6、s in 2009 decreased 43.2 percent compared with 2008. Estimated working gas capacity in underground storage, as of June 2007, was 3,990 Bcf, with a total deliverability of 79,998 MMcf per day. The United States imported 3.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in 2009, primarily from Canada. Delivery T
7、he U.S. natural gas industry had 2.39 million miles of pipeline including distribution, services, transmission, and gathering lines in place in 2009. Sales Gas utility sales decreased 6.3 percent in 2009 to 8,050 trillion Btu. Residential sales decreased 3.4 percent from 2009 levels. Commercial sale
8、s decreased 5.4 percent. Industrial sales decreased 13.8 percent. Electric generation sales decreased 10.2 percent. Prices The average retail natural gas price decreased 19.2 percent in 2009 compared to 2008. The average residential price decreased 13.2 percent. Average commercial prices decreased 1
9、7.4 percent.
