1、 ABSRULES FOR BUILDING AND CLASSING OFFSHORE INSTALLATIONS .1997 1 RULES FOR BUILDING AND CLASSING OFFSHORE INSTALLATIONS 1997 NOTICE NO. 1 March 2008 The following Rule Changes become EFFECTIVE AS OF 1 JANUARY 2008. Notes - The date in the parentheses means the date that the Rule becomes effective

2、for new construction based on the contract date for construction, unless otherwise noted. (See 1-1-4/3.3 of the ABS Rules for Conditions of Classification Offshore Units and Structures (Part 1).) Note Regarding the Changes to Part 1, Section 1 For the 2008 edition, Part 1, Section 1, “Scope and Cond

3、itions of Classification” was consolidated into a generic booklet, entitled Rules for Conditions of Classification Offshore Units and Structures (Part 1) for all units, installations, vessels or systems in offshore service. The purpose of this consolidation was to emphasize the common applicability

4、of the classification requirements in “Part 1, Section 1” to ABS-classed offshore units, pipelines, risers, and other offshore structures, and thereby make “Conditions of Classification” more readily a common Rule of the various ABS Rules and Guides, as appropriate. As a result of this consolidation

5、, those portions of Part 1, Section 1 which are now included in the generic booklet are deleted or revised as follows. (Add new Foreword to Part 1, Section 1, as follows.) Foreword (1 January 2008) For the 2008 edition, Part 1, Section 1, “Scope and Conditions of Classification” was consolidated int

6、o a generic booklet, entitled Rules for Conditions of Classification Offshore Units and Structures (Part 1) for all units, installations, vessels or systems in offshore service. 8、pplicable to offshore installations. These supplemental requirements are always to be used with the aforementioned Rules for Conditions of Classification Offshore Units and Structures (Part 1). 9、ATION, TESTING AND SURVEY SECTION 1 SCOPE AND CONDITIONS OF CLASSIFICATION 1/1.1 Classification (1 January 2008) (Delete entire existing text of Subsection 1/1.1 and replace with the following:) The requirements for conditions of classification are contained in the separate, generic ABS Rules for Co

10、nditions of Classification Offshore Units and Structures (Part 1). Additional requirements specific to offshore installations are contained in the following portions of this Section. (Delete entire existing Subsection 1/1.2.) 1/1.3 Class Designation (1 January 2008) (Add the following new text befor

11、e Paragraph 1/1.3.1. Revise Paragraphs 1/1.3.1 through 1/1.3.4, as follows) A listing of Classification Symbols and Notations available to the Owners of vessels, offshore drilling and production units and other marine structures and systems, “List of ABS Notations and Symbols” is available from the

12、ABS website “http:/www.eagle.org/absdownloads/index.cfm”. 1/1.3.1 Offshore Installations Built Under Survey Offshore Installations which have been built under the supervision of the Surveyors of the Bureau to the requirements of these Rules or to their equivalent, where approved by the Classificatio

13、n Committee, will be classed and distinguished in the Record by the symbols A1 Offshore Installation. Offshore Installations which have been built to the satisfaction of the Surveyors of the Bureau, to the requirements as contained in the ABS Guide for Building and Classing Facilities on Offshore In

14、stallations and/or ABS Guide for Building and Classing Subsea Pipeline Systems and/or ABS Guide for Building and Classing Subsea Riser Systems, and which are approved by the Committee will be classed and distinguished in the Record by the symbols A1 Offshore Installation followed by the appropriate

15、notation: A1 Offshore Installation Hydrocarbon Processing A1 Offshore Installation Hydrocarbon Production A1 Offshore Installation Electric Generating Plant (electric generating plant export load) A1 Offshore Installation Undersea Pipeline A1 Offshore Installation Chemical Processing A1 Offshore Ins

16、tallation Metals/Ore Processing 1/1.3.2 Offshore Installations Not Built Under Survey Offshore Installations which have not been built under the supervision of the Surveyors of the Bureau, but which are submitted for classification, will be subject to a special classification survey. Where found sat

17、isfactory, and thereafter approved by the Classification Committee, they will be classed and distinguished in the Record in the manner as described as in 1/1.3.1 but the mark “” signifying the survey during construction will be omitted. 18、HORE INSTALLATIONS .1997 3 1/1.3.4 Classification Data Data on offshore installations will be published in the Record as to the latitude and longitude of the location of the structure, structure type, structural dimensions and the depth of water at the site. 1/1.5 Rules for Classification (1 January 2008) (Delete Paragraphs 1/1.5.2 through 1/1.5.5.) (Delete entire existing Subsections 1/1.7 and 1/1.9.) 1/1.7 Submission of Plans (Renumber Subsection 1/1.11 as 1/1.7.) (Delete entire existing Subsections 1/1.15 through 1/1.21.)
