To summarise, it is clear to me that there is an advantage to having fewer languages. I am not in favour of forcing less commonly used languages to die out, but I do not think it shoul

21、n China, people from Shanghai, for example, often like to use their own dialect-Shanghainese-which identifies them as a cultural group within China.
