Wool, the most beautiful of textile fibres, has one great drawback: its attraction for destructive animal pests. For
5、 this reason it is difficult to delineate the evolution of woolen textiles. Its adiathermic qualities and low specific weight made it a preferred medium from earliest times in warm climates such as the Near East. Silk is the finest of these natural fibres. When she finally heard me, she seemed to take offence and began shouting and shaking her walking stick at me. I hurried away quickly and was reli
14、eved to see a policeman on a corner. The policeman listened to my question, smiled and gently took me by the arm. There was distant look in his eyes as he pointed left and right and left again. I nodded politely and began walking in the direction he pointed. About an hour passed and I noticed that t
