5、rtain defects in the equipment under test and is a useful complement to the dielectric tests. Experience shows that partial discharges may lead in particular arrangements to a progressive degradation in tge dielectric strength of the insulation, especially of solid insulation. On the other hand, it

6、is not yet possible to establish a reliable relationship between the results of partial discharge measurements an the life expectancy of the equipment owing to the complexity of the insulation systems y:- used in - . .- -_ metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear. .- /. - - . 1. -. _. - - - _- 2.
