Hence, this guideline requires a familiarity with guideline VDI 2263 Part 8.In the series of guidelines under the title VDI 2263, the basic guideline and Part 1 through Part 9 as we

24、ll as Part 8 and Part 9 have so far been published:VDI 2263 “Hazards, assessment, protective meas-ures” pertains to the assessment of hazards and to measures for the prevention of dust fires and dust explosions including their dangerous effects. VDI 2263 Part 1 “Test methods for the determination of

25、 the safety characteristics of dusts” describes the tests on a representative and clearly defined sam-ple, following preparation tailored to the intended test method. VDI 2263 Part 2 “Inerting” deals with inerting as a measure of preventive explosion protection. VDI 2263 Part 3 “Pressure-shock-resis

26、tant vessels and apparatus; Calculation, construction and tests” covers vessels and apparatus to be built in pres-sure-shock-resistant design as a measure of con-structional explosion protection. VDI 2263 Part 4 “Suppression of dust explosions”: Explosion suppression systems are facilities which det

27、ect developing dust explosions at an early stage and stop them through fast injection of extinguish-ing agents. Die Richtlinie findet Anwendung auf Manahmen des Explosionsschutzes bei Elevatoren, in denen bei bestimmungsgemer Verwendung brennbare Staub-Luft-Gemische, Dampf-Luft-Gemische oder hybride Gemische vor-handen sind oder entstehen knnen.Diese Richtlinie gib

38、Immission Control Act (BImSchG), the annex to 3 (6) BImSchG, and in 3 (10) of the Ger-man Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV). The state of technology in this sense refers to modern procedures, facilities or modes of operation in their lat-est state of development, which seem to ensure the pr

39、actical suitability of a measure to limit emissions and to protect the health of employees. In determining the state of technology, comparable procedures, facilities and modes of operation, which have been successfully tested in operation, are to be referred to for purposes of comparison. The guidel

40、ine is applied to measures adopted to prevent explosions in elevators in which combustible dust/air mixtures, steam/air mixtures or hybrid mixtures are found or can develop when oper-ated in the intended manner.This guideline provides information for manufactur-ers as well as special information for
