6、NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM ULGENERAL1 Scope1.1 These requirements cover solenoids rated 600 volts or less.1.2 These requirements do not cover solenoids that are part of complete products such as electric valves, contactors, and the like.2 General2.1
7、 Compliance with these requirements does not assure that the solenoid is acceptable for use as acomponent of an end product. The acceptability of a solenoid in any particular application depends uponits performance in continued use under the conditions that prevail in actual service. Accordingly, as
8、olenoid might be affected by the requirements for the equipment in which it is used, and it may benecessary to additionally investigate that solenoid for features or characteristics that are not specified inthis outline of investigation.2.2 Any undated reference to a code or standard appearing in th
9、e requirements of this standard shall beinterpreted as referring to the latest edition of that code or standard.3 Units of Measurement3.1 When a value for measurement is followed by a valve in other units in parentheses, the first statedvalue is the requirement.4 Components4.1 A component in a produ

15、 including terminals and contact assemblies, shall be prevented from turning orshifting in position by being secured to their supporting surfaces by methods other than friction betweensurfaces.7.3 A lock washer is acceptable to prevent turning of a terminal or connection stud.7.4 A terminal bound in

23、 a solenoid rated 300 volts or less and 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) for asolenoid rated 301 to 600 volts.Exception: Spacings are not specified for a solenoid intended for use only in a Class 2 circuit.11.2 A spacing at a wiring terminal is to be measured with appropriate wires connected to the terminalsas in
24、actual service.11.3 Film-coated wire is considered to be an uninsulated live part in determining compliance with thespacing requirements in this outline.11.4 A slot in a molded bobbin for guiding the crossover or start-lead unspliced at the windings of amagnet coil is to be filled with an insulating
