5、ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM ULINTRODUCTION1 Scope1.1 These requirements cover micro fuel cell power systems and associated disposable fuel cartridgesthat are wearable or easily hand carried, using direct methanol fuel cell technology. These requirementsapply to power systems that provide

6、dc outputs rated 60 Vdc or less and 240 VA or less. As such, theinternal and external circuitry are considered secondary circuits that are SELV.1.2 The fuel cell power systems covered by these requirements are for use in unclassified (ordinary)locations in ambient temperatures that do not exceed 50C

7、 (140F). The fuel cartridges are to be installedand replaced by the user.1.3 These requirements cover fuel cell power systems that are electrical power sources that includeintegrated electrical connection means, integrated wiring material leads with or without electricalconnectors, or a combination

8、of these arrangements for single or multiple electrical loads. Additionalelectrical connection means may be provided to affect information exchange with the end-use product asdesigned.1.4 Federal regulatory requirements pertaining to the shipment of fuel cartridges is outside the scope ofthis Outlin

9、e of Investigation.1.5 This Outline of Investigation establishes requirements for disposable fuel cartridges limited inpressure to the vapor pressure of the methanol fuel.1.6 Disposable cartridges with a fuel capacity greater than 1000 mL and refillable cartridges are excludedfrom this Outline of In

13、 FUEL CARTRIDGE A disposable container of fuel that is not refillable.5.3 FUEL Any mixture of methanol with or without water and/or specified additives that is used toproduce electricity in a micro fuel cell unit.5.4 FUEL CELL POWER SYSTEM Generator system that uses fuel cartridge to generate usable

14、electric energy and/or thermal energy.5.5 MICRO FUEL CELL POWER SYSTEM A fuel cell power system and associated fuel cartridge thatis wearable or easily carried by hand.5.6 SELV CIRCUIT (SAFETY EXTRA LOW VOLTAGE) A secondary circuit which is so designed andprotected that, under normal and single faul
