5、le threads (e.g., HUBs, conduit bodies, couplings).4.5 In addition to complying with requirements specific to its intended use with conduit, cable, and tubing,a male threaded fitting shall also comply with performance, environmental and marking requirements forits connection to any of the following

6、additional uses as identified by the manufacturer:a) an enclosure with threaded knockouts,b) an enclosure with removable knockouts, orc) fittings with internal female threads (e.g. HUBS, conduit bodies, couplings).7.11 FITTINGS for threaded HUBS7.11.2 Marking on Fitting- A FITTING provided with a LO

7、CKNUT and intended for securement to boxeswith threaded entries or fittings with internal female threads (e.g., HUBs, conduit bodies, couplings) shallbe marked to identify its type of external threads, such as NPS, NPT, metric, “Straight, “S”, Tapered, T”“Fine”, “Course” or with equivalent wording.7

8、.11.3 Marking on Carton- A FITTING provided with a LOCKNUT and additionally evaluated forsecurement to boxes with threaded entries or fittings with internal female threads (e.g., HUBs, conduitbodies, couplings) shall have a marking on the smallest unit shipping carton For securement to a_+_ only or

9、with equivalent wording.+ Blank to be filled in with the type of internal thread: “NPT”, “NPS” “metric”, “Straight” “,Tapered” or “Straight and Tapered”, orequivalent. 11、ments for that fitting when assembled to the intended conduit, cable ortubing, as specified in Clause 8.1.5, andb) the applicable performance and environmental requirements for that fitting when assembledto the threaded entry identified by the manufacturer. See Clauses 4.5, 7.11.2, 7.11.3 and 8.40.1

12、8.40 Tests on Male Threaded Fittings provided with a LOCKNUT and also intended for securement toenclosures with threaded entries or fittings with internal female threads (e.g., HUBs, conduit bodies,couplings)8.40.1 Male threaded fittings shall:a) comply with all applicable requirements for securing

13、conduit, cable, or tubing to an enclosure,box, raceway system, or another FITTING with the locknut as part of the male threaded fitting,and,b) comply with the applicable requirements associated with that fittings performance and usageclaims when assembling the secured conduit cable or tubing to one

14、or more of the followingassemblies based on the intended use as specified by the manufacturer:1) an enclosure with threaded knockouts,2) an enclosure with removable knockouts,3) fittings with internal female threads (e.g. HUBS, conduit bodies, couplings).8.40.2 Six samples of each trade size of a ma

15、le threaded fitting when assembled to any of the productsidentified in 8.40.1 (b1), (b2) or (b3) shall comply with:a) assembly test, Clause 8.11.3, followed by,b) resistance test, Clause 8.11.4, followed by,c) pull test, Clause 8.11.7.The same samples shall be used throughout the test sequence.8.40.

16、3 Three samples of each trade size of a male threaded fitting when assembled to any of the productsidentified in 8.40.1 (b1), (b2) or (b3) shall comply with the Current Test Clause 8.10.8.40.4 A male threaded fitting when assembled to any of the products identified in 8.40.1 (b1), (b2) or (b3)intend

32、hat are alsointended for securement to boxes with threaded entries, HUBs or fittings with internal female threads (e.g.conduit bodies, couplings). The requirements employ existing UL 514B requirements combined with newmarking requirements. The performance requirements are intended to be applied to t

33、he assembly of themale threaded fitting to an internally threaded mating product. The new markings ensure thatmanufacturers can properly identify the intended use of the externally threaded fittings and to provideinstallers and AHJs with the necessary information to easily determine the acceptabilit
