This document will be submitted to PROJECT 25 by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), as provided for in a Memorandum of Understanding

23、 (MOU) dated December 1993. That MOU provides that PROJECT 25 will devise a Common System Standard for digital public safety communications (the Standard), and that TIA shall provide technical assistance in the development of documentation for the Standard. This document has been developed with inpu

24、ts from the TIA Project 25 Interface Committee (APIC), the TR-8.10 Trunking and Conventional Control Subcommittee, and TIA industry members. This document is being published because it is felt that there is an urgent need for technical information on the emerging digital techniques for Land Mobile R

25、adio Service. This document provides an overview of functionality necessary to enable interoperability of trunked radio units with trunked infrastructure. This TIA standard presents an overview of trunking operation that was recommended by TIA to PROJECT 25 as being suitable for use as part of their

26、 standard for a digital public safety radio system (Project 25). TIA expects that PROJECT 25 will establish and publish one or more standards for trunking operation that will then provide the basis for numerous TIA standards planned for the Project 25 system. TIA-102.AABA-B 1 1.0 Introduction The T

33、IA 102 series standard defines and describes the support of a trunking mode of operation. Functional requirements for enabling interoperability, migration, and compatibility are described in the families of TIA 102 series of standards and bulletins. The purpose of this revision TIA-102.AABA-B is to

34、(1) update information contained in TIA-102.AABA-A “Project 25 Trunking Overview” and (2) to incorporate provisions for TDMA operation. This revision also transfers information pertaining to security services into the relevant security services documentation suite. The relevant security services sta

35、ndard documents define protection of FDMA and TDMA trunked air interfaces. The relevant data services standard documents define data services on FDMA and TDMA trunked air interfaces. 1.1 Scope This document provides an overview of the essential attributes of the trunking mode of operation for trunke

36、d voice and data services that operate in accordance with the TIA-102 standards: 1.2 Document Description This document establishes general principles for a trunked air interface, designed for the family of Project 25 systems. Clause 1 defines new terms, definitions, and acronyms. Clause 2 provides

TIA-102.AABA-B 3 2.0 Trunking Overview The TIA-102 series documents define interfaces for digital land mobile radio operation. The trunking interface standard supports services such as data, voice, protected data, protect

46、ed voice, flexible group structures, and telephone interconnect. Trunking is the mutual sharing of a finite number of RF channels among a population of radio subscribers. Access control over system resources, ranging from a single station at a single site, to multiple stations at multiple sites, is

47、a key differentiator between trunking and conventional system operation. Trunked systems use FDMA and TDMA channel access methodologies. FDMA can be used for trunking control, voice, and data channels, while TDMA currently can only be used for trunking voice channels. 2.1 User Requirements The Proje

48、ct 25 Statement of Requirements, maintained by the User Needs Subcommittee of the Project 25 Steering Committee, provides the baseline requirements for Project 25 trunking systems. TIA-102 series documents are intended to enable implementation of interoperable functionality identified by the P25 SoR

49、 and a consistent test methodology to verify implementations based on the TIA-102 series of standards. 2.2 Commonality with Conventional Systems Conventional systems and trunked systems have historically used different signaling methods. This historical background changed with Project 25 FDMA standardization. Both the trunked system and the digital conventional system may be represented as single channel, single site configurations, with identical FDMA channel modulation, bit rate, formats, and control messages for various features, including voice, data, status, mess
