This document has been submitted to PROJECT 25 by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), as provided for in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) dated December 1993. That MOU provides that PROJECT 2

23、5 will devise a Common System Standard for digital public safety communications (the Standard), and that TIA shall provide technical assistance in the development of documentation for the Standard. This document has been developed with inputs from the TIA Project 25 Interface Committee (APIC), the A

24、PIC Trunking Task Group, and TIA industry members. This document is being published because it is felt that there is an urgent need for technical information on the emerging digital techniques for Land Mobile Radio Service. This document provides an overview of the access control, commonality with c

25、onventional systems, mixture of services, site registration, voice and data services, secondary control, voice or data on control, and protected trunking for trunked systems meeting the Project 25 requirements. These definitions are necessary to insure interoperability of trunked radio units. It sho

26、uld be noted that not all trunking specifications might have been operationally tested. All reasonable efforts have been made to ensure accuracy, but it should be understood that conformance tests remain to be developed and proven. This TIA standard presents an overview of trunking operation that wa

27、s recommended by TIA to PROJECT 25 as being suitable for use as part of their standard for a digital public safety radio system (Project 25). TIA expects that PROJECT 25 will establish and publish one or more standards for trunking operation that will then provide the basis for numerous TIA standard

28、s planned for the Project 25 system. System and equipment

37、requirements for interoperability, migration, and compatibility are described in the families of Project 25 standards and bulletins. The purpose of this revision TIA-102.AABA-A is to (1) update information contained in TSB-102.AABA “Project 25 Trunking Overview” and (2) to incorporate provisions for

38、 Project 25 Phase 2 operation. This revision also transfers information pertaining to security services into the relevant security services documentation suite. The relevant security services standard documents define protection of a Phase 1 and Phase 2 trunked systems. The relevant data services st

39、andard documents define data services on a Phase 1 and Phase 2 trunked systems. 1.1 Scope This document provides an overview of the essential attributes of the trunking mode of operation such that, where systems are configured in the trunking mode, voice and data services will operate in accordance

40、with the goals of Project 25: Supports a Project 25-compliant trunking radio Interoperates across a Project 25-compliant trunking system Independent of the particular equipment manufacturer Obtains radio spectrum efficiency Enable competition in system life cycle procurements and enables an environm
