Existence of such Standards and Publications shall not in any respect preclude any member ornonmember of TIA/EIA from manufacturing or selling products not conforming to such Standards and Publications,nor shall the existence of such Standards and Publications preclude their voluntary use by th

TIA/EIA INTERIM STANDARDSTIA/EIA Interim Standards contain information deemed to be of technical value to the industry, and are published atthe request of the originating Committee without necessar
6、ily following the rigorous public review and resolution ofcomments which is a procedural part of the development of a TIA/EIA Standard.TIA/EIA Interim Standards should be reviewed on an annual basis by the formulating Committee and a decisionmade on whether to proceed to develop a TIA/EIA Standard o

TIA/EIA Interim Standards must becancelled by the Committee and removed from the TIA/EIA Standards Catalog before the end of their third year ofexistence.Publication of this TIA/EIA Interim Standard for trial use and comment has been approved by theTelecommunications Industry Associa
8、tion. Distribution of this TIA/EIA Interim Standard for comment shall notcontinue beyond 36 months from the date of publication. It is expected that following this 36 month period, thisTIA/EIA Interim Standard, revised as necessary, will be submitted to the American National Standards Institute fora
9、pproval as an American National Standard. Suggestions for revision should be directed to: Standards Telecommunications Industry Association;1997.ASSUMPTIONSThe following items are basic understandings used during the development of thisdocument:a. The AH feature shall be applicable to all terminatin
10、g voice call deliveries(e.g., unanswered voice calls in the Alerting or Call Waiting state)permitting called AH subscribers to answer a terminating call and place itimmediately on hold, allowing conversation to begin at a later moreconvenient time.b. When the AH authorized called party activates the
11、 AH feature, the callingparty shall be provided an appropriate network announcement (e.g., asdefined by the service provider) indicating the call delivery is in progress.c. Terminating calls are in the answer state when AH is invoked (i.e., answersupervision is returned).d. A terminating call in the
12、 AH state shall normally remain in the AH stateuntil:- the called AH subscriber retrieves the call (e.g., SEND ).- the calling party disconnects.e. AH and Call Waiting (CW) authorized subscribers, active with an inprogress call and with another terminating call on hold (e.g., receiving AHtreatment),
13、 shall be permitted to retrieve the call in the AH state withnormal CW procedures (e.g., SEND terminate AH treatment, place theother party on hold, connect the AH called subscriber to the calling party inthe AH state, and enter the 2-way CW state).f. When the AH service has been invoked, the AH stat
14、e should be maintainedduring all handoff processes.g. When the call is released for any reason, the AH state shall be automaticallyreleased.h. If digits are sent to the network by an MS when the MS is instructed by theuser to invoke AH, the only digits sent are a prestored digit string associatedto
15、AH invocation. The contents of the MSs buffers are not sent ormodified.i. A serving network shall notify served mobile stations that it supports AHso mobile stations may determine when AH may be offered as an option tothe subscriber.j. The mobile station shall not offer AH as an option to the user u
16、nless thesystem to which the MS is registered supports AH.
