10、n 2.3 3 Footwear laces 1 Scope This standard covers four types of braided tubular lace and one type of woven lace made in all cases from nylon or polyester yarns. NOTE a) The standards referred to in this specification are listed in appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser
11、 are listed in appendix B. 2 Definitions 2.1 For the purposes of this specification, the definitions given in SANS 10004 and the following definitions apply: acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard, or to the parties concluding the purchase contract, as relevant Amdt 2 def
12、ective test sample, test specimen, or a set of test specimens whose average property has been determined, that fails in one or more respects to comply with the relevant requirements of the specification lot not less than 100 and not more than 150 000 pairs of laces (packed or bundled in groups of 10
13、0 or 500 pairs) of the same type, length, colour, and finish of lace ends, made by one manufacturer under essentially the same conditions, and submitted at any one time for inspection and testing 3 Requirements 3.1 General The laces shall be of uniform make, colour, and finish, and shall be free fro
14、m defects that impair their appearance or might impair their serviceability. They shall be delivered in a clean and commercially dry condition and shall not be inferior in quality or appearance to the corresponding standard sample of SANS 770. NOTE If a standard sample differs in any respect from th
15、e specified particulars, the provisions of the specification shall apply. SANS 770:2009 Edition 2.3 4 3.2 Type The laces shall be of one of the types listed in column 1 of table 1, as specified by the purchaser. 3.3 Construction 3.3.1 Types L1, L2, L5, and L6 Types L1, L2, L5, and L6 shall be braide
16、d laces without cores and of uniform cross-section. 3.3.2 Type L7 Type L7 shall be woven laces with a 2/2 twill weave. The selvedges shall be straight, firm, and evenly formed, and in the case of laces woven on a shuttleless loom, the weft yarns shall be so interlocked, at or near the selvedge, by m
17、eans of a locking thread, that unravelling of the selvedge during use is prevented. The method of interlacing of the locking thread with the weft yarns shall be such that a) the locking thread cannot be pulled out of the body of the lace, and b) in the event of a breakdown of the locking thread, con
18、tinuous unravelling of the selvedge will not occur. 3.4 Lace ends Each end of a lace shall be finished by the attachment of a tag of suitable plastics material or by adequate fusing, as specified by the purchaser. Tags shall have a length of at least 11 mm and a gripping strength, determined in acco
19、rdance with 6.11, of at least 65 N. 3.5 Length When measured in accordance with 6.3, the finished length of the laces, including (when relevant) the tags, shall be as specified by the purchaser, subject to the appropriate tolerance given in SANS 977. 3.6 Colour The colour of the laces and, when rele
20、vant, of the tags, shall be an acceptable match to that specified by the purchaser. 3.7 Constructional and physical properties When tested in accordance with the appropriate tests given in 6.4 to 6.10 (inclusive), the laces shall comply with the relevant requirements given in columns 2 to 9 (inclusi

23、laces that comply with the above requirements. 3.8 Abrasion resistance The resistance to abrasion of the laces, when tested in accordance with 6.15, shall be such that no test specimen breaks within the appropriate number of cycles specified in column 10 of table 1. 3.9 Colour fastness to water When
24、 a specimen is tested in accordance with 6.12, any staining of the water shall not exceed 5 on the geometric grey scale for assessing staining. 3.10 Colour fastness to light The light fastness rating of a lace, determined in accordance with 6.14, shall be not lower than 4. 3.11 Slip resistance The s
