SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a low expansion iron alloy in the form of sheet or strip. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for parts requiring a combination of high strength and low expansion properties up to 1200 F (649 C), but

TECHNI
14、CAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined by wet chemical methods in accordance with ASTM E 354, by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser. 16、s of AMS2269. 3.2 Melting Practice Alloy shall be multiple melted using consumable electrode practice in the remelt cycle. If consumable electrode remelting is not performed in vacuum, electrodes which have been produced by vacuum induction melting shall be used for remelting. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5
17、892B Page 3 of 7 3.3 Condition Hot rolled or cold rolled, solution heat treated, and, unless solution heat treatment is performed in an atmosphere yielding a bright finish, descaled having a surface appearance comparable to the following commercial corrosion-resistant steel finishes in accordance wi
18、th ASTM A 480 and AS4194, and 3.3.1 or 3.3.2 as applicable. 3.3.1 Sheet Shall be No. 2D finish. 3.3.2 Strip Shall be No. 1 strip finish. 3.4 Solution Heat Treatment The product shall be solution heat treated by heating to 1800 F 25 (982 C 14), holding at heat for a time commensurate with section thi
19、ckness, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool. 3.5 Properties Product 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) and under in nominal thickness shall conform to the following requirements: 3.5.1 As Solution Heat Treated 3.5.1.1 Tensile Properties Shall be as shown in Table 2, determined in accordance with ASTM
20、E 8. 21、with ASTM E 18 or by microhardness test in accordance with ASTM E 384. Product shall not be rejected on the basis of hardness if the tensile property requirements of 3.5.1.1 are acceptable. Tensile properties shall be determined on material taken from the same sample as that with nonconforming hardn
22、ess or from another sample with similar nonconforming hardness. 3.5.1.3 Bending The product shall be tested in accordance with ASTM E 290 using a sample prepared nominally 0.75 inch (19.0 mm) in width, with its axis parallel to the direction of rolling and shall withstand, without cracking, when ben
23、ding at room temperature through an angle of 180 degrees around a diameter equal to the bend factor shown in Table 3 times the nominal thickness of the product.
