2、perations Assessment Trade Study.“ This trade study highlighted many current and historical risks in the operation and maintenance of the Launch Processing System (LPS) for the retiring Space Shuttle program. The primary goal of the document was to reduce program risk by presenting lessons learned f

3、rom decades of processing experience to the designers of the Constellation Program as considerations in the development of the new Launch Control System (LCS). The document is a compendium of 30 years of experience with the LPS. Description of Driving Event: As the LCS for the Constellation program

4、was being developed, it was realized that risk in the new system could be reduced by capturing the knowledge and experiences of the retiring Shuttle LPS team and evaluating their lessons learned for applicability and potential incorporation in the new design. Lesson(s) Learned: The document presents

5、 121 pages of findings, prioritized with regard to vehicle and GSE processing, daily operations, manpower, schedule, and cost.
