2、intenance is more applicable to ground support equipment (GSE) components that degrade within a given interval than to Operations Maintenance Requirement Systems Document (OMRSD) File VI maintenance requirements. By tailoring the maintenance interval to the type of maintenance to be performed, maint

3、enance is more efficient and fewer due dates are missed. Description of Driving Event: Several GSE Safety Assurance Analysis (SAA) reviews indicated that updates to maintenance requirements were required. As a result, GSE Baseline 600.94 Hatch Support Validation, which applies to PMN A70-0962, was u

4、pdated. This update included a change in the maintenance schedule for the periodic load test of the lifting unit, G070-503982, from maintenance “before use” to maintenance at a 360-day time-cycle interval. With this change, the maintenance is now being monitored for completion within 360 days from i

5、ts last performance date. Although this maintenance was not completed by the due date for several units, this did not violate requirements because the GSE in question was out of service so that other maintenance could be performed. This suggests that there is no benefit in using a time-cycle interva

6、l to schedule maintenance of GSE when, in most cases, maintenance will not be performed within that interval for reasons such as equipment availability, scheduling, and time required. Lesson(s) Learned: A time-cycle interval appears to be better suited for situations where GSE components degrade wit

7、hin a given known interval and not for those where routine preventive maintenance is being performed.
