2、organizations, can use to publish and exchange full-text content and metadata of standards. STS is based on ANSI/NISO Z39.96 (JATS). Structures are provided to encode both the normative and non-normative content of: standards, adoptions of standards, and standards-like documents that are produced by
3、 standards organizations. 4、SO standards are developed by Working Groups of the National Information Standards Organization under the oversight of a Topic Committee. The development process is a strenuous one that includes a rigorous peer review of proposed standards open to each NISO Voting Member and any other interested par

Final approval of the standard involves verification by the American National Standards Institute that its requirements for due process, consensus, and other approval criteria have been met by NISO. Once verified and approved, NISO Standards also become American National Standards. These standar

11、nonly.)About This StandardThis is the first edition of this standard. In addition to the element and attribute descriptions, two standards tag setshave been provided as part of NISO STS.This NISO STS standard is based on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Standard Tag Set (ISOS
12、TS, version 1.1). NISO STS 1.0 is a fully backwards-compatible superset of ISO STS 1.1. Therefore, anydocument that is valid to ISO STS 1.1 will be valid to NISO STS 1.0, by changing only the document typedeclaration (or other schema identification mechanism) and the attribute on the top level eleme
13、nt ().ISO STS was based on version 0.4 (Publishing) of the Journal Article Tag Suite (JATS), now known in its updatedform as ANSI/NISO Z39.96. The current NISO STS standard is based on ANSI/NISO Z39.96-2015, which is basedon the National Library of Medicine (NLM) Journal Archiving and Interchange Ta
14、g Suite, created by The NationalCenter for Biotechnology Information (NCBI): https:/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov of the National Library of Medicine(NLM): https:/www.nlm.nih.gov. The NLM Tag Suite was developed as an update of a Document Type Definition(DTD) used by the NCBI/NLM PubMed Central project to ar
15、chive life science journals from a variety of sources.Input and support from Harvard University Libraries, as well as support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundationand collaboration with Inera, Inc. and Mulberry Technologies, Inc., allowed the scope of that project to bebroadened and resulted in the N
16、LM Journal Archiving and Interchange Tag Suite.Work on the NISO STS models and documentation, in support of NISO and the NISO STS Committee, wasperformed by Mulberry Technologies, Inc. Mulberry Technologies work was supported by ASME (AmericanSociety of Mechanical Engineers) and ASTM International.S
17、TS 1.0 and Continuous MaintenanceAs JATS 1.0 was released by ANSI/NISO in August 2012 and immediately put into continuous maintenance mode,so is the intent with NISO STS. 19、to any part of the standard may be submitted to NISO atany time. When possible, such proposals should be accompanied by examples. 23、namespace is not required for STS, some users may wish to namespace STS elements andattributes in their application of the standard.If a namespace is to be applied, the namespace URI should be “http:/www.niso-sts.org“, and the namespace prefixshould be “niso-sts” or similar.Using a namespace with ST
24、S will require a certain level of namespace and general XML sophistication. If it is done,it should be done in a manner that best facilitates interchange.
