The ignitercharge weight shall be between 8.5 andl0.5 grams, incl usi ve. * 3.1.2 Moistu
6、re content. The moisture content of the black powder, as loaded, shall be 0.5% maximum. * 3.2 Parts. The parts shall comply with all requirements specified 3.2.1 in MIL-I-60mgniter, MARK 125 MOD 5, Parts For. in MIL-S-1497 + , Squib MARK 1 MOD O, For 2.75 Inch Rocket. S uib. The squib shall comply w
7、ith all requirements specified * 3.3 Igniter assemblx. No powder grains shall be present at the con- tact surfaces of the cover and case before crimping. The completed igniter assembly shall not evidence, on any external surface, any trace of explosive composition or extraneous material affecting us
8、e, safety, or appearance. A suitable shorting device or method shall be applied to the bare ends of the lead wires before storage and shipping. _- _-._-. -_ * 3.4 Igniter functioning. The igniters, when subjected to a direct current (D.E.) firing current of 1.5 + 0.15 amperes at the specified temper
9、a- tures, shall function with no indicatTon of ejecta. Each igniter shall function within the time specified in 4.3.3.5. 3.5 Transporation vibration. The igniters, after being subjected to conditions simulating those encountered in transportation and service, shall be airtight, have proper electrica
10、l continuity, and insulation resistance, and shall function at the three temperatures specified. The igniter, after being vibrated and checked for electrical cont nu ty, and insulation resistance, shall be subjected to the airtightness test and shall show no evidence of air leakage at normal room te
11、mperature of 7OoF 5 10F (21OC +- 5.5OC). 3.7 Workmanshi . Loading and assembling shall be accomplished in accordance w -mi6-E est practices. All parts shall be free of any foreign matter. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning
12、agent. Surface coatings shall be continuous except for a few light scratches which do not expose base material. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of al 1 inspection requirements a

The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to a

Using the contractors written quality assurance procedure, this detailed specification, the applicable drawings and other contractual documents as a guide, the Government inspector shall verify at unscheduled i
22、ntervals, al 1 quality assurance operations performed by the contractor. Verification will be performed to the extent necessary to assure compliance with the contractual requirements. Severity of Government inspection of individual character- istics will be directly related to the seriousness of the
23、 classification assigned. In no instance will a characteristic classified “critical“ be accepted solely on the basis of the contractors records. 4.2 First Article Inspection f 4.2.1 First article sample. The contractor shall submit a first article sample of ninety (90) oaded assemblies and forty-fiv
24、e (45) unloaded assemblies to the Government for testing in accordance with the provisions of 4.2.2. All parts and materials shall be the same as will be used in production and shall be obtained from the same source of supply. Prior to submission, the sample shall be inspected by the contractor to t
25、he degree necessary to assure that it conforms to the requirements of the contract. A first article sample or portion thereof, as directed by the contracting office, shall also be submitted whenever there is a lapse in production for a period in excess of 90 days or whenever a change occurs in manuf
26、acturing process, material used, drawing or specification such as to significantly affect production uniformity as determined by the Government. 4.2.2. Inspections to be performed. Assemblies and components will be submitted by the Government to any or all of the examinations or tests specified in 4
27、.3.2 and 4.3.3 of this specification and any or all of the drawings. 4.2.3 Re ection. If any assembly or component fails to comply with any of the app -.k-sr ca e requirements, the first article sample shall be rejected. The Government reserves the right to terminate its inspection upon any failure
28、of an assembly or component in the sample to comply with any of the stated requirements. In the event of rejection, the Government reserves the right to require the contractor to take corrective action and submit a new first article sample or portion thereof. Until a first article sample is accepted

The term “lot“ as used throughout this specification refers to an inspection lot, which is defined as an essentially homogeneous collection of units of product from which a representative sample is drawn and inspected to determin
31、e conformance of the lot with applicable requirements. The sample selected shall represent only that quantity of units from which the sample was drawn and shall not be construed to represent any prior or subsequent quantities presented for inspection. Homogeneity shall be considered to exist provide
32、d the lot has been produced by one manufacturer, in one unchanged process, in accordance with the same drawing, specification or revision thereof. Changes to either the process, specification or drawing not affection safety, performance, interchangeability, or storage, as determined by the Governmen
33、t inspector, shall not be deemed to alter the homogeneity of the lot. Inspection lots shall comply with MIL-STD-105 and shall be numbered in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. Each loaded igniter lot shall consist of: a. Parts from three lots or less from one interfix from one manufacturer. b. Squibs fro
34、m one interffx from one manufacturer. Unless otherwise approved by the contracting officer, the inspection lot size of major assemblies or end items deliverable under the contract shall be not less than the smallest weekly estimate of quantities con- tractually scheduled for production during the co
35、ntract period nor more than the largest quantity contractually scheduled for delivery during any month of the contract period, but never less than 1201 assemblies. Inspection lots for components or subassemblies, other than the items of delivery shall be homogeneous and of a size convenient to the c
36、ontractor. * 4.3.2 Examination. Sampling plans and procedures for the following classifications of defects shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 except that inspection for critical defects when listed, shall be 100 percent. Continuous sampling plans In accordance with MIL-STD-1235 may be used if a
37、pproved by the procuring activity. Also, at the option of the procuring activity, AQLs and sampling plans may be applied to the individual characteristics listed using an AQL of 0.40 percent for each major defect and an AQL of 0.65 percent for each minor defect. Once agreement has been reached as to
38、 which method will be used (Group or Individual) that method will be used for all of the classification of defects (CDs) listed in this specification.
