ALWAYS review the subject to ensure that it reflects the following: The subject should include a brief description of: Part, assembly, coating system, etc. being tested Application Type of test If the report is specific to one part number (PN), includ

If changes to the subject text are made, make sure the subject in the WRTS gets updated to match. OBJECT: This section is a brief stateme

If changes to the object text are made, make sure the subject in the WRTS gets updated to match Substantive changes to the object of need to be agreed upon with the Requestor and/or VEM as applicable. Changes to OBJECT for WRTS driven by RVD will be reflected in RVD. CONCLUSIONS: This sec

29、tion provides clear and concise statement(s) of the conclusion(s) reached based on the test or analysis results. The conclusions must be responsive to all of the listed objectives of the test. The conclusions must be supported by information contained in the Results section and should not contain co

30、njecture. Keep conclusions brief and to the point. All Pyxis Concerns generated during testing and related to the Object statement get documented in the Conclusions Section. Pyxis Concerns should be hyperlinked. When performing a failure analysis, the first conclusion should describe the failure mod

RECOMMENDATIONS: The section provides a clear and concise statement of any suggestions, proposals, or changes recommended. T

32、hey should be specific in identifying what needs to be changed and the extent of the change proposed. All recommendations start with “Materials Engineering recommends”. When two or more recommendations are made, they may be sequentially numbered. Recommendations should be referenced and incorporated

33、 into a subsequent workflow (WRTS, Pyxis, etc). REMARKS/BACKGROUND: This section may be split into multiple headings as dictated by the specific investigation. List any remarks which help the reader understand the report, but do not belong in other sections. Points to consider include: Alter the hea

Hyperlink to Pyxis concerns that were generated during the investigation that are not directly related to the object statement. MATERIALS/PART#s/TEST VEHICLES/TEST ENGINES: This section provides a clear description of the material,

38、 part, or component being tested or analyzed. Alter the heading to reflect the content. When applicable, this section includes a description of the test vehicles. When the tests involve a Navistar manufactured, fabricated, or designed part, a description of the part, the part number, including revis

39、ion level and any modifications, the installation drawing number, including revision level and any modifications, and the quantity of parts, should all be referenced in this section. The part supplier should also be noted, if known. If part or installation drawings do not exist, a drawing or sketch

40、of the part/installation may be included in the report. When the test involves a material instead of a part, a complete description of the material should be provided and the material supplier noted. When the test involves a vehicle(s), the vehicle should be identified by its VIN number and the vehi

41、cles lineset ticket shall be included as a table in the report. Relevant vehicle information such as model number, axle ratings, axle test weights, engine type, etc., should be noted. If appropriate, this section may contain a link to the OKTT document. TEST EQUIPMENT / INSTRUMENTATION: The informat

42、ion in this section will vary based on the type of report being written. For validation work (and other types as required), it should include: Equipment necessary to set up or to perform the test shall be identified. The description of the test equipment should include model and serial numbers where

43、 applicable. When load application devices such as air cylinders, hydraulic actuators, dead weights, etc., are used, the type of applicator and its load capacity or range should be noted and information on accuracy, bias, and calibration dates must be reported. METHOD: This section should include th

44、e standards that contain the test methods (as opposed to performance requirements) used during the investigation to directly answer questions posed in the OBJECT. If testing was performed in support of other activities, the methods may be omitted. List the standards body, standard number, and standa

Make a note when test methods have been deviated from When test methods are not documented in a published standard, provide enough detail that the method can be duplicated at a later date. I like the subheadings as described below for use in Failure Analysis reports. General notes, which apply to all reports, include: Information i

48、n this section should be presented in a fashion that directly leads the reader to the stated conclusions. When necessary, include a Summary section to tie results together in support of your conclusion. Relatively short tables can appear in the text. Large tables (longer than half a page) are usually placed with the photographs at the end of the report
