It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW14329. 1. PURPOSE This standard specifies the method of durability

    3、 test of water hose used in a cooling system of an internal combustion engine and a heating system of passenger cars. 2. TEST APPARATUS 2.1. Heating chamber It shall have a volume of about lm3 and heating capacity of 13kw. It shall be furnished with a temperature control (range +200, accuracy 0.1%)

    4、and temperature sensor to keep the temperature in the chamber up to +200. 2.2. Air circulating ventilator A ventilator shall be installed on the top of chamber and an air duct shall be installed at the back of the chamber to inhale the air at the chamber top and to feed it to the chamber bottom. 2.3

Vibrating device A geared motor shall be installed on the chamber top, and a chain driving system shall be connected to the chamber back and an eccentric vibrator to the chamber inside to apply vibration of frequency of 200+/-20 rpm to the sample through a circle of 20mm diameter. 2.4. Reservoir t

    6、ank A reservoir tank shall mix water and antifreeze 50 to 50 in a 30N of volume and shall include motor & pump to circulate cooling water through the line. 2.5. Pressure tank A piston type pressure tank shall be able to apply pressure on line by air by forming a closed circuit in circulating line to

    7、 force cooling water circulate in pump. 2.6. Pressure gage Two pressure gages with range of 10 bar shall be installed at each inlet and outlet of a sample. 2.7. Level gage & solenoid valve A level sight gage to continuously monitor the circulating and breathing conditions of cooling water in the lin

    8、e pumped by a water pump and 3 solenoid valves to make a sample line into a closed circuit in the complete circulating condition shall be installed. 3.     9、hnology 3.1. The hose shall be attached to the jig & fixture with clamps without being extended or compressed. 3.2. Test length 3.2.1. Cooling water hose (For Radiator) (1) The connected test sample shall have the same length and condition as in the vehicle condition. (2) A 3 way cooling water hose

    10、shall be installed in the vehicle condition and one side of the branch line shall be sealed by a dummy plug and tied with a strip not to sway. 3.2.2. Heater hose (including a pre-heating hose of carburetor) (1) In case of a straight hose with same inside diameter and different lengths, it shall be t

    11、ested by being cut into 200mm pieces.     13、ondition, the original hose as manufactured shall be installed and tested. 3.3. Sample size The number of samples for durability test shall be min. six. 3.4. Attachment method of test sample 3.4.1. Six test samples shall be connected in series and shall be made for cooling water to flow through and

    14、connector shall be attached to suit the shape of the hose. 3.4.2. The chamber side connector shall be connected in series. The high pressure hose, not the test piece, shall connect between connectors. 3.4.3. When attached to a connector, the test sample shall be wound with reinforcement (fabrics) on

    15、 its mounting portion to prevent its coming-out by permanent expansion and damage by the clamp during the test. Schematic No. 3 Clamp set up method 4.     16、ology 4.1. Vacuum test before durability test The test hose shall not be collapsed in the normal temperature and the vacuum of more than -150 mmHg. 4.2. Fatigue test 4.2.1. The outside diameter of the hose in the supplied condition shall be measured in the normal temperature and without pressure. 4.

In the condition that breathing is completed by circulating cooling water in the test hose, the solenoid valve shall be operated to make sample line connected in series into a closed circuit. 4.2.3. The sample line in a closed circuit shall be subject to the pressure and temperature condition b

    18、y a pressure tank. Table 1. Hose end connected to eccentric vibrator shall make a circle of 20mm diameter in the dir

    19、ection perpendicular to the axis of hose center and shall be vibrated with a frequency of 200 RPM. Vibration shall be omitted when the hose is not a cooling water hose(radiator hose) or straight hose(In case of hose elbow, vibration shall be omitted when its straight portion is less than 200mm.). 4.

    20、2.5. The total test time shall be 100 hours made up of 5 cycles of 20 hours. Every six hours out of 20 hours shall be kept in no vibrating and no pressure condition in the room temperature and the test shall be done during the total 124 hours sequentially. 4.2.6. Right after each cycle(20 hours), de

    21、formation of the sample shall be measured and recorded by measuring the outside diameter under the condition of 120 with pressure(specific pressure by type). 4.2.7. After the total test time of 100 hours, the permanent deformation shall be measured and recorded by measuring the outside diameter of s

    22、ample at the normal temperature. 4.3. Vacuum test after the durability test The test shall be done in the normal temperature and there should be no collapse when vacuum is more than -150 mmHg. 5. TEST EVALUATION 5.1. Failure occurrence 5.1.1. No single sample shall be leaked or cracked during the to

    23、tal test time of 100 hours. When needed, up to 2 samples which dont take a failure sample test could be substituted for the test.     24、rt due to clamping shall not be compared with the crack occurred at the hoses free end. 5.1.3. The surface crack of the hose shall be considered failure although there is no rupture in the sample. (Breakage of reinforcing yarn on the hose, pin hole, etc.) 5.2. Expansion rate 5.2.1. Expansion rate of

    25、 outside diameter during the 100 hrs test: Max 12% 5.2.2. Permanent expansion rate of outside diameter after 100 hrs test: Max 6% 5.2.3. When specifically requirements are needed, parts shall satisfy the requirement specified on the drawing. 5.3. There shall be no vacuum collapse before and after a durability test
