SCOPE The material defined by t

    2、his specification is a well-refined middle distillate petroleum product containing normal commercial additives. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as initial fill fuel for diesel engines in passenger cars and trucks designed to operate on 15 ppm max sulfur fu

    3、el with cold flow properties controlled year round. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. This material must meet the requirements of ASTM D975 Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils plus the following: 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES Th

    4、is specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally throug

There shall be no obvious foreign odors.

    12、3.18 ADDITIVES 3.18.1 The material shall contain normal commercial additives. The use of cold flow improver additives may be used with approval of Fuels and Lubricants Engineering. 3.18.2 In addition to the multi-function additive package that is used to meet fuel performance requirements, the fuel

    13、must also be treated with a supplemental additive that meets specification WSS-M99C133-A1. This additive is required to provide additional corrosion protection for fuel injectors. This additive must be added to the fuel at a nominal treat rate of 0.0150 % (150 ppm) active material by volume. Ford Fu

    14、els and Lubricants Engineering may approve other suitable additives that provide equivalent performance. The additive top treat should be performed by the fuel supplier. 3.20 CONDUCTIVITY Report (ASTM D2624/ASTM D4308) 3.21 FUEL CLEANLINESS VO plant incoming quality and/or maintenance section shall

    15、perform incoming quality checks per procedure VOPQUN-274. These checks are needed to ensure that excess water bottoms have not accumulated in storage tanks. In addition, frequent checks must also be performed on fuel in storage tank(s) to ensure that it is free of alkali and alkaline metals (Na, K,

    16、Ca, Mg). The presence of these metals in the water bottoms require corrective action to remove any water and contaminants. The level of calcium, sodium, magnesium or potassium is limited to minimum detection level. 3.21.1 Ca, Na, Mg, K Target 1 ppm max (ASTM D5185) 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The informa

    17、tion given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 FLAMMABILITY This material represents a potential fire hazard. The Manufacturing Engineering Department or other

    18、 responsible activity shall notify both the Security and Safety Units of its presence to assure that proper fire precautions are provided. The location in which it is used or stored shall be included in the notifications. 4.2 SAMPLING AND SUBMISSION OF SAMPLES (ASTM D4057/D 4177) ENGINEERING MATERIA

    20、first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with

    21、all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certifi

    22、cation testing) with Ford. 4.5 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials abilit

    23、y to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and c

    24、omponents using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.6 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrict

    25、ions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continui

    26、ng basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 5.
