SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and polycarbonate alloy, blended to achieve exceptional impact and thermal properties. Two types of materials are approved under this s

    3、pecification. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for the following materials: Type I Used for interior trim components where high impact strength and heat resistance is required, such as automatic transmission shift console handles. Type II A self-extinguishing grade used in e

    4、lectrical applications. In addition to offering high thermal and impact properties, this resin exhibits good resistance to hydrocarbons. 3. REQUIREMENTS ESB-M4D251 specification shown without type designation is understood to be Type I material. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Mat

    5、erial suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN Type I Type II 3.1.1 Color Natural Black/gray (Unless otherwise specified on engineering drawing) 3.1.2 Specific Gravity 1.12 - 1.25 1.15 - 1.28 (

    9、ed on engineering drawings. 3.2.3 Resistance to Fade, pigmented material only (FLTM BO 101-01) The material shall fade no more than the master sample approved for production on file in the Quality Control or Test Laboratory after 120 SFH. 3.2.4 Resistance to Heat Finished parts must pass the followi

    10、ng test: Test Method: Condition the parts for 3 h at 107 +/- 3 C (or as otherwise specified on engineering drawing). After removal, parts shall show no more than 0.5% shrinkage where the part has been gated, which will interfere with assembly to mating parts or affect its appearance. The part shall

    11、not warp to an extent that would affect its use in ultimate assembly. 3.2.5 Chemical Resistance, weight change, max 5% (ASTM D 543, immersion in n-Heptane (90 - 110 C boiling range) for 40 h) 3.2.6 Flammability, Type II only Self-extinguishing (ASTM D 635) ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M4D2

    13、n 25% after having been subjected to the following test. Test Method: Following a 24 h period of total immersion in gasoline, the impact and flexural properties shall be measured after an open time (23 +/- 2 C, 50 +/- 5% relative humidity) of no less than 24 h, but within 48 h. In addition, the imme

    14、rsion samples shall not exhibit evidence of delamination. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification.
