Themethodofassessingthecorrosionloadinthecaseofanewstructuretobeinstalledtakesin

    18、toaccountthe adverseparametersofthesoilandenvironmentwithregardtocorrosion.Theyhavebeenchosentoavoid underestimationoftherisksofcorrosiondamage.Theassessmentisperformedconsideringabarestructurein directcontactwiththesoilwithouttakingintoaccountanyprotectivesystemthatwillbepresentinservice. Thecomple

    30、onsandmeasurementsonthe constructionsite;soilresistivitymeasurementshavetobeperformedand,whenappropriate,potentialgradient measurements. AnnexBgivesadditionalinformationonthewaytocarryoutasitesurvey. Thefollowingcriteriaallowtoassessthecorrosionload,basedonvisualinspectionofsoilandresistivity measur

    31、ementsfromthesurfaceduringthesitesurvey:EN125012:2003(E) 6 resistivityvaluesbelow30 W mand/orsoilconditionsasgiveninTable1indicatelocationsofhighcorrosion load; ifresistivityvaluesareabove30 W m,additionalinvestigationsuchassoilsamplingshallbedone.However,if thethreefollowingconditionsarefulfilledto

    32、gether,theyindicatelocationsoflowcorrrosionloadandnoother investigationisnecessary: soilissandorgravel, resistivityvaluesareabove100 W m,forsitesurveyconditionsrepresentativeoftheaveragesoil moisturecontentandtemperaturevalues, soilconditionsasgiveninTable1areabsent. Inaddition,incaseofapossibleelec

    33、tricalinfluence,whateveritsorigin,measurementsshouldbetakenonsitein ordertoassessmorepreciselyitseffectsontheestimationofthecorrosionload.Ifnomeasurementisperformed thecorrosionloadisacceptedhigh. 4.2.4 Soilsampling Soilsamplesaretakenatvariouslocationsonsitetakingintoaccountthenature,theheterogenei

    34、tyandthe wetnessofthesoil;theresistivityandpHvaluesofthesoilsamplesarethenmeasuredinthelaboratory. AnnexBgivesadditionalinformationontheprocedureandmeasurementmethodsusedforsoilsampling. Theminimumresistivityvalue r *andthepHvaluemeasuredonasoilsampleafteradditionofdeionizedwater allowtoassessthecor

    35、rosionloadusingTable2;theevaluationofsoilsontheborderbetweentwofieldsof corrosionloadrequiresexpertknowledge. Asthestructureactuallylaysinthesoil

    42、,moreinformationcanbecollectedthaninthecaseofanewstructure (seeEN125011:2003;annexB).Thiscovers: theinformationonthestructureitself(suchascorrosioneffects,operatingconditions); thecharacteristicsofthesoildirectlyincontactwiththewallsofthestructure; theeffectoftheenvironment(mainlyelectricalinfluence

Thethreestepsoftheprocedureforanewstructurecanbeusedfortheassessmentofthecorrosionload;butthe investigationconductedduringpreliminaryinquiry,sitesurveyandsoilsamplingwillbemorecompletethanforaEN125012:2003(E) 8 newstructure.Moreover,itisalsopossibletotakeintoaccountsamplescomingfromthestructureitselftoperform theassessment.
