    41、ard specifies fire-performance and antistatic requirements for new (unused) conveyor beltingfor use in any part of a mining or excavation operation that is below the surface.1.2This Standard covers fire-performance and antistatic conveyor belting of the following types:a) Types A1 and A2 intended fo

    42、r use in explosive atmospheres; andb) Types B1-A, B1-B, B2, and C intended for use in non explosive atmospheres.1.3This Standard does not cover products of combustion or products of thermal degradation fromconveyor belting subjected to fire or heating.Note: While the intent of this Standard is to es

    43、tablish a reasonable level of fire-performance for conveyor belting, itis recognized that any conveyor belt material could burn under conditions different from those described in thisStandard. Therefore, to ensure a higher level of fire safety, consideration should be given to installation measuress

    44、uch as those listed in Annex A.1.4A guideline for conformity assessment to this Standard is provided in Annex B.1.5In CSA standards,“shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged tosatisfy in order to comply with the standard; “should” is used to express a recom

    47、entsfor conveyor beltingNovember 2014 2014 CSA Group 72 DefinitionsThe following definitions shall apply in this Standard:Antistatic (as applied to conveyor belting) having a sufficient conductance to pass the electricalsurface resistance test specified in this Standard.Explosive atmosphere an atmos

    48、phere where ignitable and explosive concentrations of gases,vapours, or dusts might occur.Fire-performance (as applied to conveyor belting) the characteristics of the belting that meet thecriteria of the appropriate flame, drum friction, and flame propagation tests where specified in thisStandard.Pr

    49、opane Type HD-5 or equivalent with a propane content of no less than 90%.3 Test requirements3.1 Classification of beltingIn order to be classified, belting shall meet all the criteria in all the tests specified for a particular type.Note: It is recognized that, due to the large number of combinations of various carcasses and covers, it isimpractical to conduct individual tests on every single member of a series of conveyor belting. In most cases,certain members of a series would be selected for testing. For example, for a series o
