    19、InternationalStandarddescribestherequirementsforautomated,controlledshot-peeningofmetallicarticles priortoelectrolyticorautocatalyticdepositionofnickelorchromium,orasafinalfinish,usingshotmadeofcast steel,conditionedcutwire,ceramicshotorglassbeads.Theprocessisapplicabletothosematerialsonwhichtest wo

    20、rkhasshownittobebeneficialwithingivenintensityranges.Itisusuallynotsuitableforbrittlematerials.Hand- peeningandrotaryflap-peeningarespecificallyexcluded. Shot-peeninginducesresidualcompressivestressesinthesurfaceandnearsurfacelayersofmetallicarticles,and changesthesurfacemicrostructure(includingphas
