Thecalculatingformulaeandmethodsdescribedproducesufficientlyaccurateresultsto calculatetheshortcircuitcurrentduringthefirst100msofafaultcondition.Theycanbeused tocalculatetheshortcircuitcurrentforperiodslongerthan100mswhencalculatingonabus systemto

    26、whichthegeneratorsaredirectlyconnected.Fortimeperiodsbeyond100msthe controllingeffectsofthesystemvoltageregulatorsmaybepredominant.Calculationsincluding thevoltageregulatoreffectsarenotconsideredinthisstandard. Theobjectofthisstandardistopresentformulaeforcalculatingshortcircuitcurrentsofthe active

    27、componentsofanelectricalsystemandtoindicatehowsuchformulaemaybesimplified whencalculatingtheshortcircuitcurrentatvariouslocationsontheelectricalsystem.The calculationsgiveestimatesoftheprospectiveshortcircuitcurrentwhenthesystemsactive componentsproducetheirmaximumcontribution. Thecalculatingformula

    28、earedevelopedfrombasicelectricalengineeringtheoriesrelevantto thesystemcomponents.Tosimplifythecalculationmethodsyetretainanacceptablelevelof accuracyintheresults,suitableassumptionsareoutlinedandtheireffectsonthecalculation resultsindicated. Thisstandardprovidesacalculationprocedure.Itgivesguidance
