Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 commercial vacuum cleanera vacuum cleaner suit-able for the heavy duty and sometimes continuous cleaningtasks encountered in establishments such as hotels, motels,office buildings, churches, clubs, etc.3.1.2 filtration systemrefers to the filtra

Motor emissions are not includedin determining filtration system efficiency performance sincemotor emissions are generated independently of the cleaningprocess and are not a part of the dust and debris

Motor emissions are addressed underTest Method F2608.3.1.3 HEPA (High Effciency Particulate Air)refers to alevel of filtration performance in terms of particulate efficien-cies.3.1.4 residential vacuum cleanera vacuum cleaner suit-able for the normal cleaning tas

Sampling4.1 A minimum of three units of the same model vacuumcleaner selected at random in accordance with good statisticalpractice shall constitute the population sample.1This specification is under the

United States14.2 To determine if the population of the vacuum cleanermodel being tested meets the minimum filtration efficiencyrequirements for HEPA, each of the three sample units of agiven model shall be evaluated

    16、by performing three test runs.The results from each test run of each sample unit must meetthe minimum filtration efficiency defined for HEPA establishedper Option 1 or 2 of this standard.5. Test Methods5.1 Two test options are available for determining whetheror not the filtration efficiency of a va

    17、cuum cleaner achievesHEPA performance.5.1.1 Option 1A vacuum cleaner is defined as HEPA if itmeets both of the following criteria provided in Table 1 below.There are two steps required for this option.5.1.1.1 Step 1The primary filter is tested first per one ofthe cited standards (IEST or EN) listed

    18、in Table 1 and found tocomply with the minimum HEPA efficiency requirements ascited by the respective standard. The test flow rate for this filtertesting must be the same flow rate as specified in Test MethodF1977 for the complete vacuum under test.5.1.1.2 Step 2The complete vacuum is to be tested p

    19、erTest Method F1977 for leak testing, and the filtration efficiency(minus motor emissions) is found to be 99.97 % at the 0.3 to0.5 m particulate range.NOTE 1The rationale for this two-step definition is based on theIEST-RP-CC0001.5, Table E2, in which a HEPA vacuum is defined ashaving a filter that

    20、meets HEPA class A, B, H, I, C, J, K and passes a leaktest with a mean size of 0.3 m per IEST-RP-CC0034.5.1.2 Option 2Avacuum cleaner is defined as HEPAif thecomplete vacuum is tested per Test Method F1977, butmodified for the particulate challenge and instrumentation ofone of the cited HEPA standar

    21、ds (IEST or EN) in Table 2, andthe filtration efficiency (minus motor emissions) is found to begreater than or equal to the minimum filtration efficiencyrequirements for HEPA as cited by the respective standard.NOTE 2Vacuum cleaners defined as HEPA have a single class. Thereare no multiple levels fo
