Valveoperation is not required during application of this test pres-sure, but after the pressure has been removed, the valve mustmeet all performance requirements.3.4 lockup pressurethe outlet pressure delivered by apressure-reducing valve under shutoff conditions (that is, whenthe flow deman

Classification4.1 Valves shall be of the following compositions andpressure ratings, as specified (see Section 5 and 6.1.7).     23、Information5.1 Ordering documentation for valves under this specifica-tion shall include the following information, as required, todescribe the equipment adequately.5.1.1 ASTM designation and year of issue.5.1.2 Valve specification code (see 6.1.14).5.1.3 Composition and pressure rating required (se

    24、e Section4).5.1.4 Trim materials where specific requirement is known(see Table 1, Footnote B, Note 2).5.1.5 Whether internal or external reduced pressure sensingline is required (see 6.1.2.1).5.1.6 Accuracy of regulation required if other than listed in7.2.5.1.7 Minimum and maximum inlet steam press

Valve Construction and Coding6.1 Valves shall incorporate the design features specified in6.1.1-6.1.14.6.1.1 Materials of ConstructionMaterials shall be asspecified in Table 1. All materials shall be selected to preventcorrosion, galling, seizing, and excessive wear or erosi

    27、onwhere applicable. Clearances shall prevent interference as aresult of the thermal expansion.     28、 1565 00 (2006)26.1.2.1 Valves will be operated, maintained, and repaired onboard ships and shall emphasize simplicity, maintainability,ruggedness, and reliability. Design shall permit access foradjustment and repair when working from either side of thevalve and without requiring removal of the valv

    29、e body from theline. Valves shall be of the self-contained, internal-operatedtype as described in 1.1.6.1.2.2 The operating piston shall be separate from the mainvalve and fitted with one or more piston rings. The design shallprevent water buildup on the piston. The piston shall operatewithin a sepa

    30、rate hardened steel cylinder liner located in thevalve body so that removal of the valve bonnet provides accessto the top of the piston assembly. The cylinder liner shall beheld in place by way of the bonnet bolting or shall bepermanently fabricated into the body. The requirement tolocate the cylind

    31、er liner in the body may be waived where it isshown that an alternative location provides a satisfactorymaintenance configuration. Pilot valve and diaphragm cham-bers shall be self-draining. The pilot valve shall be singleseated with integral stem. The valve shall be controlled by aspring-referenced

    32、 metal diaphragm and shall open against highpressure. A return spring shall keep the pilot valve in contactwith the diaphragm at all times. The diaphragm shall not travelthrough center during any phase of operation. Edges contactingthe diaphragm shall be rounded to prevent wear and damage.Condensate

    33、 chamber or other suitable means shall be providedto preclude internal wetted springs from being exposed totemperatures exceeding their material limitations. The reducedpressure sensing line shall be internal or external as specified(see 5.1).6.1.3 MaintainabilityInternal parts shall permit easy dis

    34、-assembly and reassembly with standard tools and shall prevent,as far as practical, the incorrect reassembly of parts. Position-ing and alignment of all parts in assembly shall use positivemeans so that correct reassembly is repeatedly assured. Partsfor a given valve shall not be physically intercha

    35、ngeable orreversible, unless such parts are also interchangeable or revers-ible with regard to function, performance, and strength. Main valve trim (defined as consisting of the seator seat ring and plug and

    40、 the guide posts and bushings) materials shall be selectedfrom the following:(a) StelliteTrim to be Stellite.(b) Hardened corrosion-resistant steelHardened corrosion-resistant steelplug (400 series or 17-4 PH) and Stellite seat or seat ring. Guiding surfaces to behardened corrosion-resistant steel o

    41、r Stellite.Nongalling grades of materials shall be chosen to prevent galling betweenrubbing surfaces. A difference in hardness of at least 100 points Brinell shall bemaintained between the rubbing guiding surfaces. This requirement does notapply if both the guide surfaces are Stellited or if the har

    42、dness of either exceeds450 Brinell.(c) Where Stellite is used, it shall consist of either wrought Stellite 6B, castStellite 6, or an inlay of Stellite (not less than332-in. thickness for main seat anddisk surfaces). Where inlays are used, welding rods shall be in accordance withType MIL-RCoCr-A or M

    43、IL-R-17131.(2) Pilot valve trim materials. Pilot valve trim (defined as consisting of the seat,valve, and guiding surfaces) shall be made from one or a combination of thefollowing materials:(a) 400 series or 17-4PH corrosion-resistant steel-hardened.(b) Stellite.CSpring materialsWhere the working te

    44、mperature of the spring will exceed600F, either Inconel X-750 or A-286 alloy steel shall be used. Where the workingtemperature of the spring exceeds 450F, but not 600F, Inconel 600 or tungstentool steel may also be used.     46、hangeabilityValve design shall permit inter-changeability without individual modification of like partsbetween all valves. Each part shall have part number identityand shall be replaceable from stock or the manufacturer on anonselective and random basis. With the exception of matchedparts, parts hav

    47、ing the same manufacturers part number shallbe directly interchangeable with each other with respect toinstallation (physical) and performance (function). Physicallyinterchangeable assemblies, components, and parts are thosethat are capable of being readily installed, removed, or replacedwithout alt

    48、eration, misalignment, or damage to parts beinginstalled or to adjoining parts. Fabrication operations such ascutting, filing, drilling, reaming, hammering, bending, prying,or forcing shall not be required.6.1.5 SpringsSprings shall not be fully compressed dur-ing any normal operation or adjustment

    49、of the valve. Theworking stress shall be such that relaxation shall not exceed5 % over a 1000-h period at the nominal operating temperature.Spring ends shall be squared and ground.6.1.6 ThreadsThreads shall conform to ASME B1.1.Where necessary, provisions shall be incorporated to preventaccidental loosening of threaded parts. Pipe threads shall not beused.
