Requirements5.1 AppearanceThe coating shall have a uniform appear-ance free from tears and other discontinuities which may affectthe appearance or performance of the coating, or both.5.2 AdhesionThe coating shall show less than 5 % re-moval following the tape

20、adhesion test. Due to the nature of thecoating, some removal is expected, but removal of the coatingto expose the substrate indicates poor adhesion and is cause forrejection.5.3 Corrosion ResistanceThe coating shall be capable ofwithstanding exposure to salt spray test (SST) for the minimumhours (h)

21、 specified in Table 1. Unless otherwise defined, acceptable corrosion resistance shall be Rust Grade 6 or higher(see Test Method D610 for definition) on significant surfaces(see Terminology F1789 for definition).5.4 BlistersThere shall be no signs of blisters after testingin accordance with 6.1.5.5 T

22、hread FitThe coating shall not have an adverseeffect on normal installation and removal practices as deter-mined by the proper GO thread gage.5.5.1 The thickness of the coating is limited by the basicthread size (3A GO gage for external threads, 2B GO gage forinternal threads). Where greater thickne

Where mechanical propertiesare not specified, oversizing is subject to the approval of thepurchaser.5.6 Hydrogen EmbrittlementWh

Test Methods6.1 CorrosionCorrosion resistance shall be tested in ac-cordance with Practice B117 followed by

25、Test Method D610 torate the amount of corrosion.6.2 Coating ThicknessThe coating thickness shall bedetermined by magnetic induction, X-ray fluorescence spec-troscopy, microscopic examination of a cross-section takenperpendicular to the significant surfaces, or weigh-strip-weighmethod. When using mag

26、netic induction, or X-ray fluores-cence, an average of ten measurements on the flat surface ofone part shall be used.NOTE 1The weigh-strip-weigh method involves weighing the testspecimen before and after the coating is stripped. The method requires areagent that does not attack the base metal (for e

27、xample, 20 % NaOH).6.3 AdhesionAdhesion of the coating shall be tested inaccordance with Test Methods D3359 Scribe-Grid Test, wherepractical. Determination if base material is exposed may bedone by visually inspecting the part, or exposing the part to saltspray test (see Practice B117) for 96 h and
