Scope1.1 This specification is for flat, uncoat

    3、ed expanded poly-styrene thermal insulation boards for use in exterior insulationand finish systems (EIFS).1.2 EIFS producers may have requirements in addition to,or different than, those in this specification.1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately

    4、as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if a

    5、ny, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety, health, and environmental practices and deter-mine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.5 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internatio

Terminology3.1 For general terminology regarding EIFS and building ingeneral, see Terminology E2110 (for EIFS terms) and Termi-no

Ordering Information4.1 The following information shall be provided whenshipping materials under this specification.4.1.1 Thickness, width and length,4.1.2 Number of pieces,4.1.3 Shipping address,4.1.4 Required delivery date,4.1.5 Billing information,4.1.6 Cer

    9、tificate of compliance with this specification, and4.1.7 EIFS producer name and product name for whichinsulation is to be used.5. Requirements5.1 The thermal insulation boards shall meet the followingrequirements.5.1.1 Insulation boards shall meet the properties listed inTable 1 of Specification C57

    10、8 for Type I.5.1.2 Insulation boards shall be made of 100 % virgin EPS.5.1.3 Length1219 mm 48 in. 6 1.6 mm 6116 in.5.1.4 Width610 mm 24 in. 6 1.6 mm 6116 in.5.1.5 Thickness:5.1.5.1 Minimum: 20 mm 34 in. + 1.6 mm 116 in.5.1.5.2 Maximum: as specified.5.1.6 Edge TruenessWhen measured with a straight ed

    11、ge,edges shall not deviate more that 0.8 mm 132 in. in 305 mm12 in.5.1.7 Face FlatnessWhen measured across the face with astraight edge, the maximum deviation for the straight edgeshall not exceed more than 0.8 mm 132 in.5.1.8 SquarenessWhen measured on the large flat facefrom one corner to the oppo

    12、sing corner, the dimensionalvariations shall not exceed more than 0.8 mm 132 in. in305 mm 12 in.5.1.9 AgingPrior to cutting into individual boards, theinsulation billet shall remain in one of the following states:5.1.9.1 For a minimum of six weeks at ambient tempera-tures and humidity conditions of

    17、ngtemperature and humidity conditions of the storage locationwhen thermal insulation boards are manufactured using lowpentane EPS resin ( 4.5 % pentane) and vacuum moldingtechnology.5.1.9.4 For a minimum of 18 days at existing temperatureand humidity conditions of the storage location when thermalin

    18、sulation boards are manufactured using full pentane resin(nominal 6 % pentane) and using vacuum molding technology.5.1.10 Inspection and Quality AssuranceThe thermal in-sulation boards shall be produced under the EIFS producersquality assurance program, which shall meet the requirementsof the applic

    19、able local building regulations and the require-ments of the EIFS producer in whose system the insulation isto be used.6. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance6.1 Crushing and DepressionInsulation boards shall haveno crushed or depressed areas on any surface exceeding1.6 mm 116 in. in depth on no more

    20、 the 5 % of the surfacearea.6.2 VoidsInsulation board shall have no more than 8 voidshaving dimensions larger than 3.2 mm 18 in. by 3.2 mm 18in. per 0.74 m28 ft2 of surface area.6.3 ProjectionsInsulation board shall be free from surfaceprojections or cutting marks in excess of 1.6 mm 116 in.7. Produ

    21、ct Marking, Packaging, and Package Marking7.1 Each board shall be marked with the insulation produc-ers name and the name of the EIFS producer with which thebards will be used, as follows:7.1.1 Marking of Individual Boards:7.1.1.1 Each board shall be marked on at least one edge, and7.1.1.2 One board

    22、 in each package shall be marked on bothfaces.7.1.2 Packaging:7.1.2.1 Insulation boards shall be packaged in plastic bags.7.1.2.2 Alternate methods of packaging shall be submittedto the EIFS manufacturer and approved prior to use.7.1.3 Package Marking:7.1.3.1 The insulation producer shall mark the l

    23、ot numberon each package.8.
