Scope1.1 This performance specification covers woven dryclean-able topcoats, overcoats, and dress coat outer fabrics composedof

    3、 any textile fiber or mixture of textile fibers.1.2 This performance specification is not applicable towoven fabrics used for linings, interlinings, rainwear garments,and all-purpose, water-repellent garments nor is this perfor-mance specification applicable to bonded or laminated fabrics.1.3 These

    4、requirements apply to both the length and widthdirections for those properties where each fabric direction ispertinent.1.4 When a fabric requires special treatment, specific meth-ods will be described as they are developed for that material,and such special tests will have precedence over these gene

Significance and Use4.1 Upon mutual agreement between the purchaser and thesell

    17、er, woven fabrics intended for this end use should meet allof the requirements listed in Table 1 of this specification.4.2 It is recognized that for purposes of fashion or aestheticsthe ultimate consumer of articles made from these fabrics mayfind acceptable fabrics that do not conform to all of the

    18、requirements in Table 1; therefore, one or more of therequirements may be modified by mutual agreement betweenthe purchaser and the seller.4.2.1 In such cases, any references to the specification shallspecify that: This fabric meets Performance SpecificationD 3562 except for the following characteri

    19、stic(s).4.3 Where no prepurchase agreement has been reachedbetween the purchaser and the seller, and in case of contro-versy, the requirements listed in Table 1 are intended to be usedas a guide only. As noted in 4.2, ultimate consumer demandsdictate varying performance parameters for any particular

    20、 styleof fabric.4.4 The significance and uses of particular properties andtest methods are discussed in the appropriate sections of thespecified test methods.5. Sampling5.1 Acceptance Testing LotUnless there is prior agree-ment consider as a lot for acceptance testing all material of asingle item re

    21、ceived as a single shipment.5.2 Lot SampleAs a lot sample for acceptance testing,take at random the number of rolls as directed in an applicablespecification or other agreement between the purchaser and theseller, such as an agreement to use ASQ Z1.4.5.3 Laboratory SampleFrom each roll or piece in t

    22、he lotsample, cut two laboratory samples the full width of the fabricand at least 375 mm (15 in.) along the selvage.5.4 Test SpecimensTake the number of specimens di-rected in each of the applicable test methods. Perform the testson the fabric as it will reach the consumer. Any “partially-finished”

    23、or “post-finished” fabrics should be processed inaccordance with the fabric manufacturers instructions.5.5 If the applicable test method does not specify perlaboratory sampling unit. Use a reliable estimate of thevariability of individual observations on similar materials inthe users laboratory, a 9

    24、5 % probability level, and an allow-able difference of 5 % of the average between the test resultson laboratory sampling units and the average for the laboratorysampling unit. The average for a laboratory sampling unit is theaverage that would be obtained by applying the test to all of thepotential

    25、specimens from that laboratory sampling unit.6. Specification Requirements6.1 The properties of fabrics for woven drycleanable coatsshall conform to the specification requirements in Table 1.7. Test Methods (Note 1)7.1 Breaking ForceDetermine the dry breaking force inthe standard atmosphere for test

    26、ing textiles, as directed in TestMethod D 5034, using a constant rate of traverse (CRT) tensiletesting machine with the speed of the pulling jaw at 0 6 10 mm(12 6 0.5 in.)/min.NOTE 3If preferred, the use of a constant-rate-of-extension (CRE)tensile testing machine is permitted.
