Significance and Use4.1 Importance of Prequalification For required accuracyof test results and reliability of certification, it is essential thattesting laboratories be preq

This practice establishesthose qualifications.4.2 Contractual Relationships:4.2.1 Although testing laboratories may be qualified inaccordance with this practice, it is important for the contractingauthority to consider the relationship of the testing laboratorywith other interested parties

22、 before engaging the laboratory toperform the testing. The other interested parties in the projectusually consist of the manufacturer of the material to be tested, the contractor (bidder), the owner of the project (user andcontracting authority), and the architect who serves as theowners agent in pre

Generally, the companies thathave such facilities are willing to certify as to the performancestandards with whic

The contracting authority may prefer thatthe product testing to ascertain conformance with specificperformance standards and the reporting of such testing beperformed by a qua

On a small building project, thecost of testing, if required, may be more tha

On a large project, on the other hand, the costof testing a sealant with accompanying certification by aqualified independent testing laboratory may be small incomparison to the sealant materials and commensurate with theassurances desired by the contracting autho
