    3、per UNS No. C12200 tube for use in aboveground natural gas and liquified petroleum (LP) gas fueldistribution systems, commonly assembled with flared fittingsor brazed joints.1.2 O60 (soft annealed) temper gas tube is produced in therange of standard sizes38 to78 in. outside diameter; H58(drawn gener

    4、al purpose) temper gas tube is produced in therange of standard sizes38 to118 in. outside diameter.1.3 O60 (soft annealed) temper gas tube systems are nor-mally assembled with single 45 flared fittings, althoughbrazed connections using wrought or cast fittings may bepermitted by local or code requir

H58 (drawn generalpurpose) temper gas tube systems are assembled with brazedconnections.NOTE 1Tube temper and applicable size are determined by installa-tion code requirements.1.4 Flared fittings used with seamless copper tube fornatural gas and liquified petroleum (LP) gas fuel distribution

    10、ogy3.1 For general definitions of terms relating to copper andcopper alloys, refer to Terminology B846.3.2 Definitions:3.2.1 coil, na length of tube formed into a series ofconnected turns. The unqualified term “coil” as applied to tubeusually refers to a bunch coil.3.2.1.1 coil, bunched, na coil in

    11、which turns are bunchedand held together such that a cross section of the bunched turnsis approximately circular.3.2.1.2 coil, double-layer flat, na coil in which the prod-uct is spirally wound into two connected disk-like layers suchthat one layer is on top of the other (a double-layer pancakecoil

    12、or a double-layer spirally wound coil).3.2.1.3 coil, level or traverse wound, na coil in which theturns are wound into layers parallel to the axis of the coil suchthat successive turns in a given layer are adjoining one another(sometimes called a helical coil).1This specification is under the jurisd

    16、 propane, propylene, butane(normal butane or isobutane) and butylene.3.2.3 tube, gas, ntube specifically intended for use inabove ground and natural gas and liquified petroleum gas fueldistribution systems and conforming to the particular dimen-sions known as Type GAS.3.3 Definitions of Terms Specif

    17、ic to This Standard:3.3.1 “capable of”, adjas used in this specification thetest need not be performed by the producer of the material toconfirm capability. However, should subsequent testing by thepurchaser establish that the material did not conform to therequirements of this specification, the ma

    18、terial shall be subjectto rejection.4. Ordering Information4.1 Include the following information in orders for product.4.1.1 Type GAS tube (Table 1),4.1.2 Standard size (Table 1),4.1.3 Temper (Sections 5 and 7),4.1.4 Whether tension tests, Rockwell Hardness tests, andgrain size determinations are re

    19、quired (Section 8),4.1.5 Whether an expansion test is required (Section 9),4.1.6 Length (11.5Table 2),4.1.7 Whether the tube is to be furnished in straight lengthsor coils,4.1.8 Quantity: number of straight lengths or coils required,4.1.9 Certification, if required (Section 20), and4.1.10 Mill test

    20、report, if required (Section 21).4.2 In addition, when material is purchased for agencies ofthe U.S. government, it shall conform to the SupplementaryRequirements as defined herein, when specified in the contractor purchase order.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The material shall be of such quality

    21、and purity that thefinished tube shall have the properties and characteristicsprescribed in this specification and shall be cold drawn to size.5.2 The tube shall be finished by such cold-working andannealing operations as are necessary to produce the requiredtemper and surface finish.5.3 Tubes furni

    22、shed in coils shall be annealed after coiling.5.4 Tubes in straight lengths shall be furnished in the H58(Drawn General Purpose) temper, except when the O60 (SoftAnneal) temper is specified in the purchase order or contract.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the following chemi

    23、calrequirements of Copper UNS No. C12200:Copper (incl. silver) 99.9 % min.Phosphorus 0.015 to 0.040 %6.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits for unnamed elements may beestablished by agreement between the manufacturer or supplierand the purchaser.7. Temper7

    24、.1 Type GAS copper tube shall be furnished in either of thefollowing tempers as defined in Classification B601.Soft anneal O60Drawn general purpose H588. Mechanical Property Requirements8.1 The tube shall conform to the mechanical propertyrequirements specified in Table 3. Tension tests and grain si

    25、zedetermination need not be made except when requested by thepurchaser in the ordering document. Where agreement onRockwell Hardness tests cannot be reached, the tensile strengthand grain size requirements of Table 3 shall be the basis foracceptance or rejection.9. Expansion Test9.1 The soft anneal

    32、sibleto the unaided eye.10. Nondestructive Testing10.1 Each tube up to and including 1.125-in. (28.6-mm)outside diameter shall be subjected to an eddy-current test.Testing shall follow the procedures of Practice E243, exceptfor the determination of “end effect”. Tubes shall be passedthrough an eddy-

    33、current test unit adjusted to provide informa-tion on the suitability of the tube for the intended application.10.1.1 Either notch depth or drilled hole standards shall beused.10.1.1.1 Notch depth standards, rounded to the nearest0.001 in. (0.025 mm), shall be 22 % of the standard wallthickness. The

    34、 notch depth tolerance shall be plus and minus0.0005 in. (0.013 mm). Alternatively, at the option of themanufacturer, using speed insensitive eddy-current units thatare equipped so that a fraction of the maximum unbalancesignal can be selected, the following percent maximum unbal-ance signals may be

Tubes with discontinuities indicatedby the testing unit, may, at the option of the manufacturer, bere-examined or retested to determine whether the discontinuityis cause for rejection. Signals that are found to have beencaused by minor mechanical

    39、damage shall not be cause forrejection of the tubes, provided the tube dimensions are stillwithin the specified limits and the tube is suitable for itsintended application.11. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations11.1 For the purpose of determining conformance with thedimensional requirements

    40、 prescribed in this specification, anymeasured value outside the specified limiting values for anydimension may be cause for rejection.11.2 Standard Dimensions, Wall Thickness, and DiameterTolerancesThe standard dimensions, wall thickness, anddiameter tolerances shall be in accordance with Table 1.1

    41、1.3 MassFor purposes of calculating mass, cross sec-tions, etc., the density of copper will be 0.323 lbs/in.3(8.94g/cm3). The theoretical mass per foot is given in Table 1.11.4 RoundnessFor drawn tube in straight lengths, theroundness tolerance shall be as specified in Table 4. Thedeviation from rou

    42、ndness is measured as the difference be-tween major and minor diameters as determined at any onecross section of the tube. No roundness tolerance has beenestablished for annealed tube in straight lengths or for tubefurnished in coils.11.5 Standard Lengths and TolerancesThe standardlengths and tolera

    43、nces shall be as specified in Table 2.11.6 Squareness of CutFor tubes in straight lengths, thedeparture from squareness of the end of any tube shall notexceed 0.010 in. (0.25 mm) for tube up to and including0.625-in. (15.9-mm) standard size; and not more than 0.016in./in. (0.016 mm/mm) of outside di

    44、ameter for tube larger than0.625-in. (15.9-mm) standard size.12. Thepermissible variation in lengths of such coils shall be waived.13.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:13.2.1 The sample shall be

    49、 taken in approximately equalweight from each portion piece selected in 13.1.2 and inaccordance with Practice E255. The minimum weight of thecomposite sample shall be 150 g.13.2.2 Instead of sampling in accordance with PracticeE255, the manufacturer shall have the option of sampling at thetime castings are poured or from the semi-finished product.13.2.3 The number of samples taken during the course ofmanufacture shall be as follows:13.2.3.1 When samples are taken at the time the castings arepoured, at least one sample shall be taken for
