Materials and Manufacture6.1 MaterialsThe material of manufacture shall be castbillets or slabs of one of the alloys cited in Section 1 of thisspecification. The cast material

    19、 shall be of such soundness andpurity as to be suitable for processing into the productsprescribed herein.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hotworking, cold working, and annealing processes as to producea uniform wrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 The produ

    20、ct shall be hot or cold worked to the finishsize, and heat-treated when required, to meet the temperproperties specified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements in Table 1 for the copper alloy UNS No.designation specified in the ordering informat

    21、ion.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer andpurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required forunnamed elements.7.3 For alloys in which copper is given as remainder, copperis the difference between the sum of all

    22、 the elements analyzedand 100 %. When all the elements in Table 1 are analyzed, thesum of results shall be 99.5 % minimum.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Table 2.8.1.1 Copper Alloy UNS No. C17410 Strip and Sheet isoffered in the TH02 (12 HT)

    23、 and TH04 (HT) tempers.8.1.2 Copper Alloy UNS No. C17450 Strip and Sheet isoffered in TH02 (12 HT) Temper.8.1.3 Copper Alloy UNS No. C17460 Strip and Sheet isoffered in the TH03 (34 HT) and TH04 (HT) tempers.9. Physical Properties9.1 Electrical Conductivity:9.1.1 The product furnished shall conform

    24、to the electricalconductivity prescribed in Table 3.10. Mechanical Properties10.1 Tensile Strength Requirements:10.1.1 Product under 0.075 in. (1.905 mm) in thicknessfurnished under this specification shall conform to the tensilerequirements prescribed in Table 2, when tested in accordancewith Test

    25、Methods E8/E8M.10.1.2 Tensile test specimens shall be taken so that theirlongitudinal axis is parallel to the direction of rolling.10.1.3 Acceptance or rejection, under 0.075 in. (1.905 mm)in thickness, based upon mechanical properties shall dependonly on tensile strength.10.2 Rockwell Hardness Requ

    26、irements:10.2.1 Product 0.075 in. (1.905 mm) and over in thicknessfurnished under this specification shall conform to the Rock-well hardness requirements prescribed in Table 2, when testedin accordance with Test Methods E18.10.2.2 Acceptance or rejection, 0.075 in. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance12.1 The product shall be free of defects, but blemishes ofa nature that do not interfere with the intended application areacceptable.13. Sampling13.1 SamplingThe lot s

    32、ize, portion size, and selection ofsamples pieces shall be as follows:13.1.1 Lot SizeAn inspection lot shall be 10 000 lb or lessmaterial of the same mill form, alloy, temper, and nominaldimensions, subject to inspection at one time or shall be theproduct of one cast bar from a single melt charge, w

    33、hoseweight shall not exceed 25 000 lb that has been continuouslyprocessed and subject to inspection at one time.13.1.2 Portion SizeA portion shall be two representativesamples taken from the product of one cast bar that has beencontinually processed to the finished temper and dimensions.13.1.3 Chemi

    34、cal Analysissample pieces for chemicalanalysis shall be in accordance with section 7.1.2.1 of Speci-fication B248.14. Number of Tests and Retests14.1 The number of tests and retests shall be in accordancewith Section 8 of Specification B248.15. Specimen Preparation15.1 Chemical AnalysisSample prepar

    35、ation shall be inaccordance with Practice E255.15.2 Tensile TestsSample preparation shall be in accor-dance with Section 9 of Specification B248.15.3 Rockwell HardnessThe test specimens shall be of asize and shape to permit testing by the available test equipmentand shall be taken to permit testing

    36、in a plane parallel to thedirection of deformation given to the product.15.3.1 The surface of the test specimens shall be sufficientlysmooth and even to permit the accurate determination ofhardness.15.3.2 The specimen shall be free of scale and foreignmatter and care shall be taken to avoid any chan

    37、ge in condition,that is, heating or cold working.16. Test Methods16.1 The test methods for determining the mechanical andphysical properties are detailed in Specification B248.16.2 The test method for determining chemical analysis forcompliance and preparation to certifications and test reportsshall

    38、 be at the discretion of the reporting laboratory.16.2.1 In case of dispute, the test method in the Annex ofSpecification B194 shall be used for determining chemicalrequirements in Table 1.16.3 When analysis for unnamed or residual elements isrequired in the purchase order, the method of analysis sh

    39、all bemutually agreed upon between the manufacturer or supplierand the purchaser.17.
