Materials and Manufacture5.1 Heat TreatmentThe final heat treatment shall be asolution anneal. Minor cold working such as flattening ortem

    16、per rolling may be performed after the final solutionannealing treatment.NOTE 1This recommended solution anneal consists of heating to aminimum temperature of 2000F (1090C) and cooling rapidly to roomtemperature.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material sampled, in accordance with 11.2, shallconform t

    17、o the composition limits prescribed in Table 1.6.2 If a product analysis is subsequently made, the materialshall conform to the composition limits with the productanalysis variation prescribed in Table 2.7. Mechanical Requirements7.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as to themechanical

    18、 property prescribed in Table 3.8. Intergranular Corrosion Test8.1 All material supplied to this specification shall becapable of passing the intergranular corrosion test, but the testneed not be performed on any given lot unless it is specified onthe purchase order. If the test is specified, it sha

    19、ll be performedby the manufacturer on specimens taken in the as-shippedcondition. Specimens shall be tested in the sensitized condition(1 h at 1250F (677C), and tested in accordance with PracticeC of Practices A262. The corrosion rate shall not exceed 2.5mils/month (165 mg/dm2day).9. Dimensions and

    20、Permissible Variations9.1 SheetThe material referred to as sheet shall conformto the variations in dimensions prescribed in Tables 4-9,inclusive.9.2 Cold-Rolled StripThe material referred to as cold-rolled strip shall conform to the permissible variations indimensions prescribed in Tables 10-13, inc

    21、lusive.9.3 PlateThe material referred to as plate shall conform tothe permissible variations in dimensions prescribed in Tables14-20, inclusive.9.4 Edges for Cold-Rolled Strip:9.4.1 The various types of edges procurable shall be asfollows:9.4.1.1 No. 1 EdgeRolled edge, contour as specified.9.4.1.2 N

Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance10.1 The material shall be free of injurious imperfectionsand shall correspond to the designated finish as described asfollow

Sampling11.1 Lots of Chemical Analysis, Mechanical Testing, andCorrosion Testing:11.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.11.1.2 PlateA lot of plate for testing and inspectionpurposes shall consist of the products resulting from the rollingof one heat

    34、 of material in the same condition and specifiedthickness, solution annealed by the same practice, but in nocase more than 25 000 lb (11 340 kg).11.1.3 Sheet and StripAlot of sheet or strip for testing andinspection purposes shall consist of material from one heat inthe same form (sheet or strip), c

    35、ondition, finish, and specifiedthickness, solution annealed by the same practice but in no casemore than 25 000 lb (11 340 kg).11.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:11.2.1 A representative sample shall be taken from each lotduring pouring or subsequent processing.11.2.2 Product analysis, if performed,

    36、 shall be wholly theresponsibility of the purchaser.11.3 Sampling for Mechanical Tests:11.3.1 A sample of the material to provide test specimensfor mechanical tests shall be taken from such a location in eachlot as to be representative of that lot.11.3.2 When samples are to be taken after delivery,

    37、thepurchaser of material ordered to cut lengths may request on thepurchase order additional material of adequate size to providesample coupons for inspection purposes.11.4 Sampling for Corrosion TestsA sample for corrosiontesting shall be taken from a location chosen to be representa-tive of the lot

Number of Tests and Retests12.1 In the case of sheet or strip supplied in coil form, twoor more tension tests (one from each end of each coil), and oneor more hardness tests shall be made on specimens taken fromeach end of the coil. Specimen Preparation13.1 Tension test specimens from material under12 in. (12.7mm) in thickness shall be of the full thickness of the materialand machined to the form

    48、 and dimensions shown for thesheet-type specimen in Test Methods E8/E8M. Tension testspecimens from material12 in. (12.7 mm) and over shall be ofthe full thickness of the material, machined to the form anddimensions shown for the plate-type specimen in Test MethodsE8/E8M, or shall be the largest pos

    49、sible round specimen shownin Test Methods E8/E8M. Tension test specimens shall betaken from material after final heat treatment and shall beselected in the transverse direction unless prohibited by width.13.2 Corrosion test specimens shall be prepared so that atleast one major surface represents the as-supplied surface, withonly light surface grinding permitted on this surface.14. Test Methods14.1 Determine the chemical composition and properties ofthe material as enumerated in this specification, in case ofdisagreement,
