Materials and Manufacture6.1 Material:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a form (cast bar,cake, or slab) of Copper Alloy UNS No. C40500, C40810,C40850,

    18、C40860, C41100, C41300, C41500, C42200, C42500,C42520, C43000, or C43400 of such purity and soundness asto be suitable for processing into products prescribed herein.6.1.2 When specified in the contract or purchase order, thatheat identification or traceability is required, the purchasershall specif

    19、y the details desired.NOTE 1Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of castingsinto wrought products, it is not always practical to identify a specificcasting analysis with a specific quantity of finished material.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hotworking,

    20、cold working, and annealing processes as to producea uniform wrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 The product shall be hot or cold worked to the finishedsize and subsequently annealed, when required, to meet thetemper properties specified.6.2.3 EdgesSlit edges shall be furnished unless ot

    21、herwisespecified in the contract or purchase order.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical composi-tional requirements specified in Table 1 for the copper alloyUNS No. designation specified in the ordering information.7.1.1 These composition limits do not preclude the p

    22、resenceof other elements. By agreement between manufacturer andpurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required forunnamed elements.7.2 For alloys in which zinc is listed as “remainder,” eithercopper or zinc may be taken as the difference between the sumof the results for all elements dete

    23、rmined and 100 %. When allelements in Table 1 are determined, the sum of the results shallbe 99.7 % min.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Table 2 and Table 3.8.1.1 Hot Rolled Temper (M20).8.1.2 Cold Rolled Tempers H01 to H10Special tempersnot

    24、listed in this specification are subject to agreement betweenthe manufacturer and the purchaser.8.1.3 Annealed Tempers OS015 to OS035Special tempersnot listed in this specification are subject to agreement betweenthe manufacturer and the purchaser.8.1.4 Temper designations are defined in Classificat

Mechanical Property Requirements10.1 Tensile Strength Requirements of Rolled Tempers:10.1.1 Product furnished under this specification shall con-form to the

    44、tensile requirements prescribed in Table 2 for thetemper and UNS Alloy Number specified in the orderinginformation when tested in accordance with Test MethodsE8/E8M.10.1.2 Test specimens shall be taken so that the longitudinalaxis is parallel to the direction of rolling.10.1.3 Acceptance or rejectio

    45、n based upon mechanicalproperties shall depend only on tensile strength.10.2 Rockwell HardnessThe approximate Rockwell val-ues given in Table 2 and Table 4 are for general informationand assistance in testing and shall not be used as a basis forrejection.10.2.1 When performed, the hardness values sh

    46、all be deter-mined using Test Methods E18.NOTE 2The Rockwell hardness test offers a quick and convenientmethod of checking for general conformity to the specification require-ments for temper, tensile strength, and grain size.11. Other Requirements11.1 Purchases for U.S. Government AgenciesWhenspeci

    47、fied in the contract or purchase order, product purchasedfor an agency of the U.S. Government shall conform to thespecial government requirements specified in the supplementalrequirements given in Specification B248.12.
