    9、 on the rock surface to make that surface acceptable for the placement of embankment or concrete.Edit this guide specification for project specific requirements by adding, deleting, or revising text.     30、re placed. Vertical surfaces, where permitted or required by these specifications, are included.1.3.2 Rock JointsRock joints are all planar and/or curvilinear fractures, including cracks, crevices, and seams which separate a rock mass into individual rock blocks of various sizes. They may be open or

    31、 closed and may be filled with material other than rock material.1.4 SUBMITTALS*NOTE: Review submittal description (SD) definitions in Section 01 33 00 SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES and edit the following list to reflect only the submittals required for the project. Submittals should be kept to the minimum r

    32、equired for adequate quality control.A “G” following a submittal item indicates that the submittal requires Government approval. Some submittals are already marked with a “G”. Only delete an existing “G” if the submittal item is not complex and can be reviewed through the Contractors Quality Control

    33、 system. Only add a “G” if the submittal is sufficiently important or complex in context of the project.For submittals requiring Government approval on Army projects, a code of up to three characters within the submittal tags may be used following the “G“ designation to indicate the approving author

    40、ormation on the design of filter materials can be found in the Engineering Manual (ER) 1110-2-1901, “Seepage Analysis and Control for Dam,“ ER 1110-2-2300, “Earth and Rock Fill Dams General Design and Construction Considerations.The Specifier should use the first paragraph if there is a concrete sec

    41、tion, an embankment for earth dams, or a stone protection section in the specifications and if the gradation therein is satisfactory for filter materials. If there is no concrete section, or if the gradation therein is unsatisfactory for filter materials, the Specifier should use the second paragrap
