In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, th

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Required inspections. 3.1.1 First article. When specified, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspectio
16、n in accordance with 4.2. 3.1.2 Conformance. A sample shall be subjected to conformance inspection in accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Materials and parts. Materials and parts shall be in accordance with the drawings and specifications cited. 3.3 Assemblies. The assemblies shall comply with all requirements
17、 specified on 8830971 and 8830972. 3.4 Moisture content of the lead azide. The moisture content of the lead azide at the loading station, at the time of loading the blasting cap assemblies, shall be not greater than 0.50 percent. 3.5 Pull test of the lead wires. Lead wires shall not be separated fro
18、m the blasting cap when a pull force of 5 pounds (lbf) is exerted on each individual lead wire while the blasting cap is held stationary. 3.6 Resistance of bridge wire and wire leads. Resistance of blasting cap, including bridge wire and wire leads, shall be not greater than 1.76 ohms and not less t

The M6 cap shall not be initiated by an electric current of not less than 0.20 Ampere and not greater than 0.21 Ampere for the duration of 5 s
20、econds. 3.8 Waterproofness. The M6 blasting cap shall function after submersion in water for not less than 4 hours at not less than 65F and not greater than 75F when the water is under a pressure of not less than 50 pounds per square inch (gauge). 3.9 Functioning. The M6 blasting cap shall be capabl
21、e of initiating high-order when tested in the following methods. 3.9.1 Ampere initiation of single cap. The M6 blasting cap shall be initiated when an electric DC current of not greater than 0.45 Ampere is applied to the lead wires for not greater than 50 milliseconds. 3.9.2 Milliwatt-second initiat
22、ion of single cap. The M6 blasting cap shall be initiated when electrical energy of not greater than 18.3 milliwatt-seconds and not less than 16.3 milliwatt-seconds is applied to the lead wires for not less than 10 milliseconds and not greater than 24 milliseconds. 3.9.3 Fire conditions for fifty (5
23、0) caps in series. Fifty (50) M6 blasting caps connected in series through the full lengths of their leads shall be initiated by the application of a current of not less than 1.40 and not greater than 1.60 Ampere for not less than 1.5 and not greater than 1.6 milliseconds. 3.9.4 Fire conditions for
24、four (4) caps in series. Four (4) M6 blasting caps connected in series through the full lengths of their leads shall be initiated by the application of electrical energy of not more than 0.3 Joule for not greater than 100 milliseconds. 3.10 Marking performance and durability. Performance and durabil
25、ity of marking inks shall meet the requirements of the inks respective specification. 3.11 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be clean and free of chips, burrs, sharp edges, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion products, and other defects and foreign matter which would affect their serviceability.
26、 The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part or assembly nor shall the cleaning agent contaminate them. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous. Lot formation shall be in accordance with the lot requirement of MIL-STD-1916. Lot numbering, as required, shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. Each in
36、spection lot of loaded charge assemblies shall contain: a. Parts from not more than one lot interfix number from one manufacturer. b. Ignition charge from not more than one lot from one manufacturer. c. Lead azide from not more than one lot from one manufacturer. d. RDX from not more than one lot fr
37、om one manufacturer. 4.3.2 Examination. For the conformance inspection paragraphs 4.3.2.2 to 4.3.2.9, the definitions of critical, major, and minor defects are provided in paragraph “Definitions” of MIL-STD-1916. Inspection sampling requirements for critical, major, and minor characteristics aree de
38、fined in MIL-STD-1916. Unless specified otherwise, Inspection Level VII in addition to 100% inspection shall be used for all characteristics defined as Critical, Inspection Level IV shall be used for characteristics defined as Major, and Inspection Level II for all Minor characteristics. Three chara
39、cteristics are defined as Critical in 4.3.2.5. 4.3.2.1 Allowance for failure mode. A lot shall be accepted with one function failure as long as there is evidence of bridgewire failure. Bridgewire failure shall be determined by a continuity check prior to functioning and does not replace the inspecti
