There shall be no premature burst OP metal parts failure in the bore of the weapon, or in flight before impact. 3.4 Workmaiiship 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material. Materials shall be in accord- ance with applicable
8、 drawings and specifi- cations. 3.2 Cartridges. The cartridge shall com- ply with all requirements specified on Draw- ing (dwg.) 8797829, and with all require- ments specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Proving ground. The cartridge shall comply with the following requirements when .tested as
9、 specified in 4.3.1. 3.3.1 Failwe to $ye. The cartridge shall not faii to fire. 3.3.2 Impact functioning. There shall be visible evidence of functioning upon impact as indicated by presence of a flash or smoke cloud (see 6.5). . . . 3.3.3 Horizontal range 3.3.3.1 No cartridge shall have- a horizon-

11、raw- ing. 6.3.3 Army designs. Army designs are re- flected on detailed drawings which com- pletely depict all the information necessary for the fabrication of the item of inspection equipment. The contractor need provide no design when an Army design is listed for an item of inspection equipment. Ar
12、my de- signs fall into two basic classifications, mandatory and nonmandatory. When an in- spection equipment list references manda- tory Army designs, the contractor shall comply with, and use these designs accord- ingly. The contractor may, however, in con- nection with nonmandatory designs and wit
13、h the approval of the Government, de- sign alternate inspection equipment or use comparable commercial equipment to facili- tate his operations. Sueh contractor pre- pared designs or commercial equipment selections must be approbed by the Gov- ernment prior to fabrication or procuring of the equipme
14、nt, Designs shall be submitted for approval as specified in 6.3.7. 6.3.4 Speciation control dmwing. Speci- fication control drawings depict the mini- mum equipment requirements in outline, descriptive, diagrammatic or pictorial form only and specify the required performance or other characteristics.
15、 Contractors must prepare detailed drawings (see 6.3.6) of their designs in support of specification control drawings. These contractor pre- pared designs must be approved by the Government prior to the fabrication or pro- curing of the equipment. Commercial equip- ment meeting the requirements of s
16、pecifica- tion control drawings may be approved if described in suficient detail to permit iden- tification and evaluation by the Government. Designs shall be submitted for approval as specified in 6.3.7“. 6.3.5 Commercial equipment. Commercial equipment is inspection equipment that has universal ap
17、pliation for a specific function. It is comprised of items commonly used by industry and Government. Contractors are not required to furnish drawings of com- mercial inspection equipment, but a list of such equipment must be approved by the Government. Lists shall be submitted for ap- proval to the
18、inspection element of the agency administering the contract. 6.3.6 Contractoy designs. Contractor de- signs are designs of inspection equipment for which the Government has assigned de- sign responsibility to the contractor. Con- tractor designs shall be supported by de- tailed drawings which depict
19、 all informa- tion necessary to completely fabricate, cali- brate and operate an item of inspection equipment. This requires that the necessary views, dimensions, materials, finish, notes, operating and calibration instructions be properly depicted in accordance with ap- proved practices to the exte
20、nt that further calculation or clarification will not be re- quired. Contractor designs identified as CDGF may be developed on the format the contractor normally employs in his equip- ment design procedure provided such format reflects the detail and information specified above. Contractor designs i
21、dentified as CDAF shall comply with the format and requirements of MIL-D-45608, and in addi- tion, contain the detail and information specified above. Final approved contractor designs identified as CDCF shall be suita- ble for microfilming, They must be non- reproducible diazo or electrostatic prin
22、ts of top quality full size with black line on white background and shall provide a legible print produced via the 35mm microfilm process. Contractor shall submit one copy of the final design as a rolled set or flat set. 6.3.7 Submssion of contractor deszgns. Designs shall be submitted for approval
23、to the Commanding Officer, Picatinny Arsenal, AITN :. , SMUPA-ND. Design review nor- mally will be accomplished within one month after receipt by Picatinny Arsenal. The contracting offi- cer shall arrange for the contractor to be reimbursed for the expense incurred in the perf
25、ormance of the check tests. The test shall be conducted at Government expense without cost to the contractor who loaded the ignition cartridges or to the contractor assembling the cartridge, and shall not con- stitute a basis for rejection against either contractor, except where deterioration has oc
26、curred as a direct result of carelessness in handling, storage, etc., permitted while the ignition cartridge lot was under the jur- isdiction of either contractor. 6.5 Impact functioning. The cartridge shall function with sufficient fragmentation of the Custodian: Army-MU M.IEC-46.411B (MU) projecti
