    9、021REFRIGERANT ACCESS VALVESAND HOSE CONNECTORSSection 1. Purpose1.1 Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to establishfor Refrigerant Access Valves and Hose Connectors used inrefrigeration and air-conditioning systems: definitions;location requirements; dimensions and materials; gagingprocedures

    10、; marking and nameplate data; and conformanceconditions.1.1.1 Intent. This standard is intended for theguidance of the industry, including manufacturers,engineers, installers, contractors and users.1.1.2 Review and Amendment. This standard issubject to review and amendment as technologyadvances.Sect

    11、ion 2. Scope2.1 Scope. This standard applies to in SAE flareRefrigerant Access Valves and Hose Connectors as definedin Section 3.2.1.1 Refrigerant. This standard applies toRefrigerant Access Valves and Hose Connectorsintended for use with Volatile Refrigerants.2.2 Exclusions.2.2.1 This standard does

    12、 not apply to RefrigerantAccess Valves and Hose Connectors other than inSAE flare.Section 3. DefinitionsAll terms in this document shall follow the standard industrydefinitions in the current edition of ASHRAE Terminology ofHeating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigerationand ANSI/SAE Standar

    13、d J513f, unless otherwise defined inthis section.3.1 Refrigerant Access Valve (Valve). A normally closedvalve containing a Valve Core, incorporating a flare connectorused for the purpose of servicing refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.3.2 Refrigerant Access Valve Body (Valve Body). A flareco

    14、nnector machined to permit the insertion of a Valve Core.3.2.1 Valve Core. An assembly containing a springand moveable valve core pin and seating details,suitably threaded for insertion into a Valve Body toprovide a normally closed Valve intended for use withrefrigeration and air-conditioning system

    15、s. Depressionof the moveable Valve Core pin opens the Valve.3.3 Refrigerant Access Valve Hose Connector (HoseConnector). A modified internally threaded flare connectorsuitable for sealed attachment to a refrigerant hose containinga flare sealing gasket and a depressor to automaticallydepress a movea

    16、ble Valve Core pin as the connector isthreaded on the Valve external flare connection.3.4 “Shall“ or “Should“. “Shall“ or “should“ shall beinterpreted as follows:3.4.1 Shall. Where “shall“ or “shall not“ is usedfor a provision specified, that provision is mandatoryif compliance with the standard is

    17、claimed.3.4.2 Should. “Should“ is used to indicateprovisions which are not mandatory but which aredesirable as good practice.3.5 Volatile Refrigerant. A fluid used for heat transfer ina refrigerating system, which absorbs heat at a lowtemperature and low pressure and transfers heat at a highertemper

    18、ature and a higher pressure, usually involving changesof state.Section 4. Location Requirements4.1 Location of Valve Core Pin in Valve Body. Theinternal machining of the Valve Body shall be such that theinsertion of the Valve Core into the Valve Body requires aninitial assembly torque of 1.5 to 3.0

    19、in-lb 1.7 to 3.4 cmAkg or0.17 to 0.34 Nm. The Valve Core shall provide a refrigerantseal and position the top of the moveable Valve Core pin at alocation between 0.010 in 0.25 mm above to 0.035 in 0.89mm below the end face of the Valve Body flare, see Figure 1.4.2 Location of Hose Connector Gasket a

    20、nd Core PinDepressor. The Hose Connector core pin depressor shall bepositioned to permit threaded engagement with the ValveBody flare threads.     22、d with the Valve. Section 5. Dimensions and Materials5.1 Dimensions. All Valves that conform with thisstandard shall be interchangeable. Components ofconforming Valves will be manufactured to the dimensions ofFigures 2 and 3, and ANSI/SAE J513f, as indicated.5.2 Materials. Materials used for the sea

    23、ls on the ValveCore and Hose Connectors shall be compatible for servicewith the intended Volatile Refrigerants and refrigerant oil.Section 6. Gaging Procedures6.1 Gaging. Figures 4 and 5 show two accepted methodsof gaging the Valve Body.Section 7. Marking and Nameplate Data7.1 Marking and Nameplate

    24、Data. As a minimum, thepackaging for Refrigerant Access Valves and HoseConnectors shall be marked with the following information:a. The manufacturers name or trade nameb. Model designationc. Refrigerant designation(s) per ANSI/ASHRAEStandard 34 with AddendaSection 8. Conformance Conditions8.1 Confor

    25、mance.
