、U. S. AIR FORCE SPECIFICATION BULLETIN 10 Januhry 1968 SUPERSEDING USAF SPEC BUL 534 23 January 1964 CXJIDE FOR THE USE OF COATING SPECIFICATIONS IN AERONAUTICAL AND MISSILE EQUIPMENT 1. Scope and purpose. This bulletin provides a list of coating specifications intended for the control of corrosion

、on Air Force aeronautical and missile equipment. The list includes preferred specifications, descriptive information, limitations, and general properties of the coating materials. 1.1 Contractors finish specification. A specification covering the protective finishfor application to the weapon system

、s hardware shall be developed by the contractor and submitted for approval to the Air Force procuring activity in accordance with the individual contract. Unless otherwise specified the documents listed herein and MIL-F-7179 type II shall be the basis for preparing the finish specification. 1.2 Mter

、ials and processes. The use of materials and processes not covered by specifications referenced in this bulletin will be subject to the approval of the Air Force procuring activity. Coating and process specifications not listed herein should be submitted by the contractor for evaluation and approval

、. Materials will be subject at any time to such tests of the applicable specification as the Govern- ment inspector may require to assure conformance thereto. Proposed deviations, should be accompanied by sufficient explanation, including test data as required, to permit an engineering evaluation. 2

、. Recommended coatinq materials and processes specifications. Be- cause of the peculiar mission or production techniques of each indi- vidual weapons system, this bulletin does not list all the necessary specification coatings; it specifies the recommended coating systems for general use and many ty
