7、ODUCTION1 Scope1.1 This Outline covers the requirements for multiple conductor cables intended for use indoors andoutdoors as vertical drop cable from a crane or hoist down to a pendant pushbutton station, or as a controlcable in a crane and hoist system in accordance with Article 610 of the Nationa
8、l Electrical Code (NEC),ANSI/NFPA 70. The wire is rated 300 or 600 Volts, and 60, 75, 90, or 105C (140, 167, 194, or 221F).2 Units of Measurement2.1 Values stated without parentheses are the requirement. 13、NSTRUCTION5 Materials and Workmanship5.1 Only materials that are acceptable for the particular use shall be employed in a wire. Wires shall bemade and finished with the degree of uniformity and grade of workmanship that are practicable in awell-equipped factory.5.2 Each material used in a wire shall
14、 be compatible with all of the other materials used in the wire.6 General6.1 Assembly6.1.1 These constructions consist of two or more insulated conductors cabled together with optional fillersand/or binder tapes of suitable material to form a round cable. A messenger wire or wires is joined to theca
15、bled conductors by means of a web.6.2 Conductors6.2.1 Conductors shall be 18 10 AWG, stranded, soft-annealed copper with or without a continuouscoating of tin over each strand, in accordance with the Standard for Machine-Tool Wires, and Cables, UL1063.6.3 Insulation6.3.1 The thicknesses and material
16、 requirements for PVC or PVC/nylon insulation shall be the same asfor Type THHW or THHN wire in accordance with the Standard for Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires andCables, UL 83; or Type MTW wire Construction A or Construction B in accordance with the Standard forMachine-Tool Wires and Cables, UL 1063
17、. Surface marking may be omitted. The average and minimumthickness of the insulation shall be determined in accordance with the test, Thickness, in the Standard forWire and Cable Test Methods, UL 2556.6.4 Jacket6.4.1 The jacket material shall be PVC and shall meet the requirements of one of the PVC
18、jacket classesdescribed in the Standard for Flexible Cords and Cables, UL 62. The thicknesses requirements shall beas shown in Table 1. The average and minimum thickness of the jacket shall be determined in accordancewith the test, Thickness, in the Standard for Wire and Cable Test Methods, UL 2556.

21、n havinga nominal thickness of 5 mils, and jacketed with the same PVC compound which covers the insulatedconductors, may be joined to the cable by the means of a web. The thickness of the jacket over themessenger wires shall not be less than 15 mils less than the thickness shown in Table 1. If two m
22、essengerwires are used in the cable construction, they are to be 180 degrees apart. The web thickness is notspecified. The jacket shall meet all thickness requirements after separation at the web.PERFORMANCE7 General7.1 The following tests for insulated conductors using PVC or PVC/nylon insulation s

However, if the cable is wound on a reel or coiled in a carton, the tag may be glued, tied,stapled, or otherwise acceptab
32、ly attached to the reel or carton instead of to the cable, or the tag may beeliminated and the information printed or stencilled directly onto the reel or carton. Other information maybe added if it does not confuse or mislead. Each coil or reel of cable shall be plainly marked or tagged toshow the
