26、SSION FROM UL6.2 Welded outlet fittings intended for threaded joints shall be provided with pipe threads complying withthe following:a) Standard for Pipe Threads, General Purpose (Inch) Revision and Redesignation of ASME/ANSI B2.1-1968, ASME B1.20.1;b) Standard for Dryseal Pipe Threads (Inch) Revisi
27、on and Redesignation of B2.2-1968,ASME B1.20.3 or;c) Pipe threads complying with a national or international pipe thread standard.6.3 Welded outlet fittings intended for pipe to be joined with mechanical grooved rubber gasketed fittingsshall be provided with grooves that are cut or rolled on the wel
28、ded outlet fitting. They shall comply withthe installation instructions for the rubber gasketed fitting.6.4 Fittings shall be constructed so they are capable of being joined to piping using either the weldingmethods specified in:a) The Standard for Buttwelding Ends, ASME B16.25;b) The welding method
29、s and minimum weld thickness as specified in the Standard for theInstallation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13; orc) Other welding procedures that are at least equivalent.7 Metallic Materials7.1 Metallic materials used in fitting samples submitted for investigation and test shall conform to theminimum
30、physical property requirements of the latest edition of the applicable ASTM or equivalentmaterial standard as specified by the manufacturer.PERFORMANCE8 Samples8.1 Representative sample welded outlet fittings are to be dimensionally checked for compliance with theconstruction requirements specified
31、on the manufacturers drawings.8.2 Before the fittings are welded in place, the holes shall be cut into the piping for the outlet fitting to thefull inside diameter of the fitting.8.3 Openings cut into piping shall be smooth bore and all internal slag and welding residue shall beremoved.8.4 Fittings

33、fied in the Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13.9 Leakage Test9.1 Welded fittings assembled onto representative sections of pipe shall withstand for 1 minute, withoutleakage at joints and body, an internal hydrostatic pressure of two times the rated pressure of the fitting.9.
34、2 The sample fittings are to be filled with water, attached to a hydrostatic pressure supply and ventedof air. A hydrostatic pressure of twice the rated pressure is to be applied and maintained for a duration of1 minute.10 Hydrostatic Pressure Test10.1 Welded fittings shall withstand for 5 minutes,
35、without rupture or deformation of the fitting body orweld, an internal hydrostatic pressure of four times the rated pressure of the fitting. For the purpose of thistest, the weld includes the heat affected zone of the weld.10.2 The hydrostatic pressure in the sample fittings used in the Leakage Test
36、, Section 9, are to begradually increased to four times the rated pressure and maintained for a duration of 5 minutes.11 Bending Moment Test11.1 Bending moment tests shall be conducted on outlet fittings in accordance with the Bending MomentTest Side Outlet as specified in the Standard for Rubber Ga
37、sketed Fittings for Fire-Protection Service,UL 213 when outlets fabricated from steel material intended to be used with combinations of run pipe(other than Schedule 10 or Schedule 40) with outlet pipes having wall thicknesses greater than the runpipe for sizes 1 in. and larger. The applied bending m
