Additional samples of parts constructed of nonmetallic materials arerequired for physical and exposure testing.13.2 Water is to be used for developing the required pressures in a leakage test of liquid confining partsor hydrostatic pressure test. All hydrostatic pressures
、 are to be maintained for at least 1 minute unlessotherwise noted.13.3 Endurance tests are to be performed using the chemical that the pump is intended to be used with.14 Deformation Test14.1 Joints in a pump shall not leak, nor shall there be evidence of damage resulting from the turningeffort exer

、kage Test,Section 16.15 Blocked Outlet Pressure Test15.1 A complete sample of the pump is to be installed as intended in a 55-gallon drum containing water.A pressure gauge and a valve are to be installed in the outlet of the hose in order to measure thedischarge pressure under normal operation (valv
、e open) and under blocked outlet (valve closed). Thedrum shall be connected to a pressure indicating device that can measure pressure increases within thedrum.15.2 The valve is opened and the pump is operated as intended. The maximum discharge pressure ismeasured and recorded. The valve is then clos
、ed and the pump is operated as intended. The maximumdischarge pressure is measured and recorded.15.3 There shall be no indication of pressure increase in the drum during this test.MAY 7, 2008SUBJECT 2128UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION
、 FROM UL16 External Leakage Test16.1 A complete as-received sample of the pump, including the hose and hose securement means ifapplicable, are to be subjected to this test. The test shall be as described in 16.2. There shall be noleakage observed during this test.16.2 The sample of the pump was inst
、alled as described in the Blocked Outlet Pressure Test, Section 15.The pump was operated as intended in both the normal operation and blocked outlet modes. During theoperation, the pump was inspected for signs of leakage.17 Hose Securement Conditioning Test17.1 Two samples, prepared as described in
、17.2, are to be filled with the rated chemical at the maximumconcentration. The samples are to be tested as described in 17.3.17.2 Representative samples may be used. These samples shall consist of the hose assembly bonded toa discharge outlet, but the entire pump is not necessary. The representativ
、e samples shall have meansfor blocking all outlets, so that the sample can be filled with the fluid. If the manufacturer requests, thesample can consist of the entire pump.17.3 The samples are filled with the appropriate fluid and then capped off. They are maintained at atemperature of 23 2C (73 4F)
、 for the entire test duration. The first sample is tested for 30 days, thesecond sample is tested for 60 days. At the end of these durations, each sample is to be emptied andthen visually inspected for signs of deterioration, cracking, other damage. After this inspection, the sampleis to be subjecte
、d to the External Leakage Test, Section 16. There shall be no indication of cracking, breaking, deterioration, or leakage due to this conditioning.18 Endurance Test18.1 A sample of the complete pump is to be installed in a barrel, a drum, or other appropriate containeras intended. The container is to
、 be filled with the fluid the pump is rated to be used with at the maximumconcentration.18.2 The pump is to be operated for a total of 12,500 cycles. Each cycle is one complete pumping actionof the pump.18.3 Both during and after the cycling, there shall be no evidence of leakage or siphoning action
、 of thepump. The pump shall remain operational and shall be subjected to the External Leakage Test, Section16 after the cycling.MAY 7, 2008 SUBJECT 212 9UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL19 Liquid Immersion Test19.1 Four sets of
、three samples are required for this test. Samples are to consist of actual seals.19.2 The first set of three samples are measured and weighed in the as-received condition. The diameter, width, thickness, and weight of all three samples is determined by suitable means and recorded. Thevalues for the t
、hree samples are averaged to obtain the average as-received values for diameter, width, thickness, and weight.19.3 The measurements described in 19.2 are to be repeated on the remaining three sets of samplesafter the remaining sets are conditioned as specified in 19.4.19.4 Three sets of three samples
、 are to be completely immersed in the rated chemical at the maximumrated concentration while maintained at a temperature of 23 2C (73 4F). The first set is conditionedfor 60 days, the second set is conditioned for 180 days, and the last set is conditioned for 240 days.19.5 After all conditioning is
、complete and all the average values have been obtained, they are to becompared to determine the percentage change in each parameter. The following equation is to be used:% Change=(VcVo)/Vo x 100whereVcis the average value after conditioning andVois the average as-received value.19.6 The parameters s
、hall comply with the following criteria:a) The percentage change in diameter, width, or thickness shall not exceed 10 percent.b) The percentage change in weight shall not exceed a gain of 50 percent or a loss of 2percent.20 Long Term Exposure Test20.1 Complete samples of the pump were mounted as int
