6、1 REPLACEMENT ENCLOSURE (PART) An individual replacement enclosure (housing) identifiedby the manufacturer for use in the same manufacturers complete device (single pole locking-typeseparable attachment plug and cable connector, respectively).Note: The replacement part is packaged as a “kit” contain

8、 can be installed, inaccordance with the installation instructions, into its specified single pole locking-type separableattachment plug and cable connector without risk of fire or electric shock. Risk of fire or electric shock isdetermined by compliance with the construction and performance require
9、ments herein and the applicablerequirements of the main body of this Standard.SA4.2 A replacement enclosure (housing) part shall only be installed using commonly used tools such asa screw driver or a wrench. A replacement enclosure (housing) shall not be permitted that requires theinstaller to remov
10、e or defeat or replace a factory installed securement means such as a rivet or drive pin.PERFORMANCESA5 GeneralSA5.1 If the replacement enclosure (housing) is recommended for use with more than one device, eachrepresentative combination of replacement enclosure (housing) and device shall be evaluate
11、d.SA6 Replacement Part Assembly TestSA6.1 The replacement enclosure (housing) shall be able to be installed in the specified device and shallbe reliably retained in place without causing an increased risk of fire or electric shock. Compliance isdetermined by inspection and the test of SA6.2 shall be
12、 performed.SA6.2 A sample of the replacement enclosure (housing) shall be assembled to its specified device usingthe manufacturers installation instructions. Upon completion of the assembly, the integrity of thecompleted assembly shall be examined and if necessary, subjected to the applicable perfor
13、mance testingnecessary to maintain continued compliance with this Standard.MARKINGSSA7 GeneralSA7.1 The replacement enclosure (housing) shall be provided in the form of a kit, including marking asdetailed in Section SA7 of this Supplement.SA7.2 A required marking shall be molded, die-stamped, paint-
14、stenciled, stamped or etched metal that ispermanently secured, or indelibly stamped lettering on a pressure-sensitive label secured by adhesivethat, upon investigation, meets the intent of the requirement for the application.SA7.3 The replacement enclosure (housing) shall be provided with the follow
15、ing identification markings:a) Manufacturers name,b) Specific catalog or series number, andc) The date or other dating period of manufacture not exceeding any three consecutive months.Abbreviation of the date of manufacture, or provision in a nationally accepted conventional code or in acode affirme

22、rs are routinely repaired in the field. Manufacturers provide replacement enclosure (housing) partin the form of a “kit” to serve this purpose. To address this need to ensure continued compliance with theStandard, UL has developed requirements contained in a new UL 1691 Supplement SA, “ReplacementEn
