    24、roved category 6 measurement accuracy and repeatability. The purpose of this addendum is to recognize refinements and enhancements that result in improved category 6 measurement accuracy and repeatability by revising clause E.3.2.2, clause E.3.2.5, annex H, annex J.3, and annex J.4 of TIA-568-B.2-1.

    25、 2 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The following clauses contain refinements and enhancements to the measurement methods specified for category 6 components in the TIA-568-B.2-1 standard. 3 CATEGORY 6 MEASUREMENT REFINEMENTS 3.1 Table E.3 replacement Replace the existing table E.3 with the following new table: Ta

    37、,-,-TIA-568-B.2-6 3 3.4 Annex H replacement The following method has been identified as a refined procedure for selecting reference jacks. The following text should replace all of the text currently appearing in annex H of TIA-568-B.2. Annex H De-embedding reference NEXT loss jack selection procedur

    38、e (normative) H.1 Scope The performance of a particular laboratory de-embedded reference NEXT jack design can be compared to the reference jack vectors specified in clause E.3.2.1 by using the de-embedding procedures specified in clause D.5 of TIA-568-B.2. The procedure described in this annex defin

    39、es a figure of merit for the consistency of the reference jack. The reference jack used to measure test plugs shall be within the best 25 % of at least 20 reference jacks measured on all pair combinations. This will minimize the measurement variance due to the variance within a lot of jacks. H.2 Mea

    40、surement sampling plan The de-embedding procedures specified in clause D.5 of TIA-568-B.2 should be used to measure the reference jacks. The performance of a particular laboratory de-embedded reference jack shall be verified by determining the mated NEXT loss vector of multiple jack samples using on

    41、e reference plug. A reference jack sample size of at least 20 pieces shall be measured. A reference jack sample size of at least 30 pieces should be measured. From these 30 pieces, 20 pieces should be selected that exclude the pieces causing the largest deviation from the average performance that is

    42、 obtained as described below. The figure of merit shall be determined as follows: 1. Build a reference plug according to the instructions of annex D.5 of TIA- 568-B.2. 2. For each pair combination, do the following: 2.1. Measure real and imaginary NEXT of the mated reference plug and reference jack

    43、between 10 MHz and 250 MHz. 2.2. Calculate the average of the mated reference plug and reference jack (RPRJ) real and imaginary parts for each frequency point. 2.3. Discard all real data points for all of the jacks where the average real RPRJ is less than 316 V/V. 2.4. Discard all imaginary data poi

    44、nts for all of the jacks where the average imaginary RPRJ is less than 316 V/V 2.5. Calculate the difference between each RPRJ and the average RPRJ. The real and imaginary differences shall be calculated separately. 2.6. “Normalize“ the difference data by dividing each point by the frequency of meas

    45、urement. 2.7. Square the normalized data. Square the real and imaginary data separately. 2.8. Sum all squared data over the frequency range. 3. Compile the results for all pair combinations. 4. Sum the data for all pair combinations for each sample. This will yield a single number as a figure of mer

    46、it for each reference jack. The selected reference jacks shall be the 25% of the sample set with the lowest merit value. Pass or fail qualification shall be determined by comparing the resulting sweeps to the NEXT loss limits calculated per clause 7.2.1.3 for the applicable frequency range. A minimum o

    49、f 200 data points per decade is required to qualify modular plug cords longer than 10 m (32 ft). The pass or fail margin and the frequency at which it occurs shall be reported for each pair combination. In addition, modular plug cords shall be qualified for return loss according to the requirements of clause 7.4.4. J.4 Category 6 modular plug cord test h
