All lamps covered by this specification are large tungsten-filament incandescent electric lamps. “Large“ lamps designates , broadly , lamps regularly fitted with other than
3、miniature bases. 1.2 Classification. The incandescent lamps shall be classified in accordance with each slash sheet, i.e. W-L-101/1. 2. APPLICABLE! 10、t (efficacy). The efficacy test shall be conducted under the test conditions snecified in 4.3. The tests shall be conducted after lamp seasoning and also at 70 percent of the specified required life. Unless otherwise specified the lamp burning position shall be base up. No more than 20 percent of th
11、e test lamps shall fall below the snecified initial lumens per watt by more than the allowable tolerance or the lamps shall fail to qualify. If the average lumens per watt at 70 percent of required life of the then burninq lamps falls below the value specified in the detailed specification by more t

The test conditions of 4.4.2 apply. The test shall be conducted after lamp seasoning. No more than 20 per
13、cent of the test lamps shall depart from the watts specified in the detailed specification by more than the allowed tolerance or the lamps shall fail to qualify. 4.4.4 Dimensions. The lamps shall be measured to determine comnliance with paragraph 3.8. 4.4.4.1 Below 500 watts. The sample size shall c
14、onsist of 13 lainps for 500 watts and less. Four or more deviations from required dimensions shall fail to qualify. or more. Dime
20、nsions not in accordance with ANSI Standard C78 shall be considered a defect. The inspection level shall be S-3 and the acceptance quality level (AQL) , 6.5 percent defective. with table III below. Inspection level S-4 shall apply, and the AQL shall be 4.0 percent defective units major and 6.5 perce

25、FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaginq. Packaging shall be level A or Commercial as specified (see 6.1). 5.1.1 Level A. The lamps, of one type only, shall be cushioned and separated from one another and packaged in individually or in multiples of 2, 4 or 8. Unless otherwise specified, not more than 24 lamps sha
26、ll be repackaged in intermediate fiberboard boxes. The boxes shall be secured to prevent accidental oueninq. accordance with normal commercial practice. The complete packaqe shall be designed to protect the item against damage during shiwments, handling and storase. 5.2 Packing. Packing shall be lev
27、el A or Commercial, as saecified (see 6.2). 5.2.1 Level A. Lamps, packaged as specified in 5.1.1, shall be packed in corrugated fiberboard boxes made from weather proof fiberboard with a bursting test strength of not less than 275 lbs. per square inch. The box flans.chal1 be secured with water resis
28、tant adhesive applied to the entire area of contact between the flaps or with 3-inch wide water resistant tape applied to the full length of the center seams and extending over the ends not less than 3 inches. Alternatively wireboard, cleated plywood or nailed wood boxes shall be acceptable shipping
29、 containers when lined with a waterproof barrier material. The barrier material shall be sealed at the edges with waterproof tape or adhesive. 5.1.2 C!mercial. Lamps, packaged as specified in 5.1.2, shall be packed in fiberboard boxes to insure safe delivery at destination, to provide for safe redistribution by the initial receiving activitv, and shall be acceDtable by com
31、mon carrier under National Motor Freight Classification or Uniform Freiqht. Classification. 5.3 Marking. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.1) , markinq shall be in accordance with 5.3.1, 5.3.2, and 5.3.3. 5.3.1 !nit packages. 5.3.2 Intermediate packages. The intemediate packa(res shall be marked wit

(c) Quantity therein. (d) Contractors name and address (and manufacturers* naire and aderess, if different).
34、 (e) Contract and purchase or delivery order number. (f) Gross weight and cubic displacement (to the nearest .1 of a cubic foot). In addition , shipping containers shall be marked with appropriate exterior caution markings. 5.4 Unitization. When shipment to Government depots are full car or truckloa
35、d, the shipping containers shall be unitized to facilitate handling in accordance with normal comercial practice. The unitized load shall not exceed 2,500 lbs. in weight, 63 inches in height, 56 inches in length, and 45 inches in width. 6. NOTES 6.1 ordering data. Purchasers should select the prefer
