SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the requirements for a

    2、 high temperature resistant thread used in flight clothing. 1.2 Classification - 1.2*1 The thread shall be furnished in one of the following types, as specified (see 6.2): Type I - Unbonded Type II - Bonded 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials - 3.1.1 Yarn - The yarn used inthe manufacture of the thread shall be a

    7、 high strength, aromatic polyamide, and shall not melt The yarn shall be of such denier as will comply with the requirements of this specification. 3.1.2 Bonding agent - The bonding agent employed on the thread shall be a colorless nylon polymer which is soluble in a isglution of ethyl alcohol and w

    8、ater. The bonded thread shall contain not less than 3 percent nor more than 15 percent of the bonding agent when tested as specified in 4.4.1. 3.2 Construction - The thread shall be of uniform con- struction and shall have a smooth surface. 3.3 Phvsical prorierties - The finished thread shall have t

    9、he properties as specified in Table I. 3.4 Color - The color of the thread shall be as specified by the procuring activity (see 6.2). 3.5 WorkmanshA - The high temperature thread shall be manufactured by such processes as to meet all the requirements of this specification. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inmection - Unless otherwise spec- ified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified here

Ex- cept as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specifications where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services

The Government 4.2 of this specification shall include quality conformance (lot-by-lot) inspect i on, CornDliancs - Determination of compliance with provisions 4.2.1 Quality conformance (lot-by-lot) inspection_- The quality conformance inspection shall consist of

A lot shall consist of thread made under essentially the same condit

    16、ions and in a single production run, Unless otherwise specified, the lot size shall be expressed in units of one spool, tube, or cone, as applicable. 4.3.1 Samples for visual examination - The unit of product for this examination shall be one spool, tube, or cone. A sample size for the visual examin

    17、ation shall be selected in accordance with Standard MIL- STD-105, Inspection level II, with an acceptable quality level of 2.5 for major defects and 6.5 for minor defects per 100 units. The defects found shall be identified and classified in accordance with Table II. Defects listed shall be counted

    18、regardless of their proximity to each other, except where two or more defects represent a single local condition, in which case only the more serious defect shall be counted. Testing (Table I shall be in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-105, Inspect

    22、ion Level s-2, Acceptance Number zero. When thread to be tested is put up on bobbins, a sufficient number of bobbins to total a minimum of 360 yards shall be utilized as the sample unit for testing. 4.3.3 Sample for packaping, packing. and markina examination - The sample unit shall be one shipping

    23、container fully prepared for de- livery, The lot size shall be the number of containers in the inspection lot. STD-105, Inspection Level S-2, and the Acceptable Quality Level shall be 4.0 percent defective. The sample size shall be determined in accordance with Standard MIL- 4.3.4 In-process materia

    24、l examination - The examination will be made at any point or any phase of the manufacturing process to deter- mine whether the material and workmanship is as specified in Section 3. 4.4 Inspection methods .- Unless otherwise specified, inspection tests (of Table I shall be conducted in accordance wi

    25、th the provisions of Standard MIL-STD-105. Test conditions and methods shall be as described in Specification CCC-T-191, wherever applicable. Unless otherwise specified, the physical and chemical requirements specified in Section 3 apply to the average of the determinations made on a unit of the pro

    26、duct. listed in Table I. Samples shall be tested in accordance with the methods 4.4.1 Determination of percent of bonding agent - Test for the amount of bonding agent present on the thread shall be conducted in accordance with method 2611 of CCC-T-191 except that a mixture of 80 percent ethyl alcoho

    27、l and 20 percent water shall be used in lieu of the chloroform and the provisions on water-soluble material, weight of desired specimen, residual ash, and total inorganic material are not applicable. 4.5 Packaging. packing. and marking examination - Each sample shipping container fully prepared for

    28、delivery shall be examined to determine compliance with the packaging, packing, and marking re- quirements of this specification. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaginv., packing:. and marking - The thread shall be packageq, packed, and marked in accordance with Specific

The levels of packaging and packing to be used in the preparation for delivery shall be as specified by the procuring activity. 6, NOTES 6.1 Intended use - The thread is intended for use in the construction of lightweight flight clothing. 6.2 Orderinp data - Procurement documents should specify the following: (a) Title, number, and date of this specification.
