SCOPE 1. 1 Scope. -This specification covers rectangular frame, refriger- ator car dolly trucks, equipped with 24 load wheels and 4 steer wheels. Refrigerator car dolly

    2、 trucks are used for manual movement of pallet loads of material over smooth, rough or slatted floors for short distances, where maneuverability and rugged design are required to insure safe, efficient, and economical operation under extended service conditions. 1. 2 Classification. -Refrigerator ca

    3、r dollies shall be of the following types, as specified in the contract or order: Type I - Trucks, dolly, refrigerator car, 2,500 pound capacity, 32 by 40 inch frame, solid rubber tired load wheels, high-tensile aluminum alloy steer wheels. Type II - Trucks, dolly, refrigerator car, 4,000 powd capac

    4、ity, 40 by 48 inch frame, high-tensile alumi- num alloy load and steer wheels. 2. REQUIREMENTS 3. 1 General. -Refrigera

Unless otherwise specified, a preproduction sample shall b

    12、e submitted for examination, inspection, and test, to determine compliance with all provisions of this specification. The first refrigerator car dolly produced under the terms of a contract, following notice of award, may be submitted for approval as a prepro- duction sample, and approval shall be o

    13、btained prior to fabrication of subsequent items. Fabrication of additional items prior to approval of the preproduction sample will be at the contractors risk and such additional items are subject to rejection in the event they fail to meet the requirements of this specification. The preproduction

    14、sample refriger- ator car dolly, if conforming to this specification, will be used as a measurement guide for all dollies subsequently manufactured for a given contract under this specification, and will be presented for inspection as the last unit for delivery under the contract. Examination and te

    15、sting, wherever practicable, will be conducted at the manufacturers plant by a representative of the Contracting Officer and the delivery schedule, under the terms of the contract, will be automatically extended in an amount equal to, but not exceeding, the time required for such testing and examina

    16、tion. The time for testing is estimated at less than 15 days. 3.1.2 Material. -Materials shall be as specified herein. Material not definitely specified may be manufacturers normal commercial product, but shall meet test requirements specified in Section 4. “Normal commercial product“ shall be inter

    17、preted to mean an item pro- duced by a manufacturer normally engaged in commercial production of the item(s) covered by this specification.     25、5 inch (No. 10 USS gauge), into a modified “Z“ shape with a depth of 5 inches, bottom flange width of 518 inch, top flange width of 1 1/2 inches, and a 5/8 inch lip turned downward at the end of the top flange. Length of each channel side frame member shall be 37 114 inches for type I, and 45 114 in

    26、ches for type II. Bottom corners shall be cut to provide a 2 inch by 45 degree bevel on the web of the channel. Corners of bottom flanges shall be cut back at a 45 degree angle and rounded to a 1 inch radius, Two end frame members, made from 1/4 inch steel bar, shall be welded, in a vertical positio

    48、 fabrication. -All edges shall be smooth, rounded, and free from burrs or jagged edges. 3. 5.4 Welds. -Welded joints shall be sound; smooth; free from pits, holes, fissures, and rough projecting edges; and shall be thor- oughly fused to the base metal. 3.5. 5 Bolts and nuts, -All hardware shall be t
