SCOPE 1.1 Scope.

    2、 1.2 Classification. This specification covers the requirements for one type of flyers anti-exposure sock designated as CWU-75/P. 1.2.1 Sizes.     14、es3 REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article.     15、drawings as required herein (see 6.2.1i). 3.3 Design. The socks shall conform to Drawing 1725AS100, and shall be fabricated from laminated cloth. The anti-exposure socks are individually sized and attached to the CWU-62A/P anti-exposure coverall by maintenance personnel. 3.4 Construction. The socks

    16、shall be constructed in accordance with Drawing 1725AS100 using sewn seams co-vered on the innerside of the sock by heat sealed tapes. The contractor should use caution and every effort should be exerted to assure that the manufacturing area is free of sharp or rough edges, burrs, protrusions, and a

    17、ny other kind of object which will cut, tear, snag, impair, damage or injure the assembled socks or the component parts during the cutting and joining operations. 3.4.1 Cutting. The socks shall be cut in strict accordance with Drawings 1725AS180 through 1725AS189, as applicable, (see 6.41, which pro

    18、vides for seam allowance; directional lines for cutting; and match markings for proper assembling of all parts. The Government patterns shall not be altered in any manner and shall be used for making the working patterns. The working patterns shall be identical to the Government furni shed patterns.

    19、 3.4.1.1 Stretch component material. The material for the stretch components of the sock shall be in accordance with MIL-?-29567. 3.4.1.2 Non-stretch component material. The material for the non-stretch components of the sock shall be in accordance with MIL-C-44187 except as noted in Table I. The co

    20、lor of the non-stretch components shall be Sage Green No. 1590 and all references to color in MIL-C-44187 shall be changed to Sage Green. ticketed by any commercial method, including bundling, to insure a uniform shade throughout the sock and for the proper assembly of the socks. No metal fastening

    21、device or sewn-on ticket shall be used. The shade and size markings may be accomplished by the use of an ink pad numbering machine or rubber stamp, provided the markings do not show through the outerside of the socks and are not deleterious to the cloth. The markings placed on the seam allowance sha

    22、ll not be visible on the outerside of the socks. adhesive type shade and size marking tickets may be used for the shade and size markings (see 3.4.2.1). The assembled socks shall not contain any shade or size marking ticket nor any marking that was used for locating the position for attaching of any

    23、 component. Drill holes may be used to mark the lay outside of the pattern area. 3.4.2 Shade size and marking. The component parts of the socks shall be marked or The 3.4.2.1 Adhesive shade tickets. The adhesive shade tickets shall be fabricated from paper with a thermoactivated adhesive on one side

    24、. the cloth and the adhesive mass shall not adhere to the cloth upon removal of the ticket. harden, sear or damage ?he cloth in any manner. The adhesive shall not discolor The heat used to attach the thermoactivated adhesive tickets shall not stiffen, 3.4.3 Stitches, seams and stitching. Use stitch

    25、type 301 of FED-STD-751 having 9 to 11 stitches per inch. A size 11 needle with a round point shall be used in the construction of the sock. Each row of stitching shall be straight and parallel to the seam edge The thread tensions shall be maintained so that there shall be no loose or tight stitchin

    27、ond the stitch line, 3.4.4 Heat Sealing. All sewn seams and stitching shall be covered on the innerside of the socks and sealed with seam tape conforming to Drawing 1370AS502. 5/16“ of heat seal tape shall be on either side of seam. tape shall be hot air sealed over the seams and stitching with the

    28、“Gore Hot Air Machine“ (see 6.5), or equivalent. The machine is designed to waterproof sewn seams and stitching. No thread ends shall protrude beyond the edge of the seam tape. Tape crossover areas and ends left unsealed by the seam sealing machine shall be sealed by the MIL-S-85634 sealer or equiva

    29、lent. All seam tapes shall be applied to the sock seams without tension. At no point shall the tape lift from the seam, Splicings and tape ends shall overlap not less than 3/4 inch. The sealing conditions shall be set so that the sock meets the sock leakage test as specified in 4.7.2. There shall no

    30、t be more than 3 layers of seam tape at any point on the sock. fabrication defects shall be permitted by a 2 inch length of seam tape on the innerside of the sock. Patches should be applied using the MIL-S-85634 sealer at a temperature of approximately 350oF for approximately 20 seconds. When patchi

    31、ng is used, the leakage of the patched area shall conform to 3.5.1. Major defects listed in Table II shall not be patched .     32、ing. The sock may contain a maximum of 1 patch. Patching of 3.5 Performance characteristic. 3.5.1 Sock leakage, All socks, when inspected as specified in 4.7.2, shall not leak and there shall not be any evidence of constructional or material failure In any respect. 3.6 Visual Examination. 3.6.1 Sock

    33、s. When visually inspected as specified in 4.7.11, the socks shall conform to the requirements of this specification and applicable drawings. Table II, Classification of Defects for Vi sua1 Examination, enumerate the defects. 3.7 Marki ngs. 3.7.1 Identification. Each sock shall conta to drawing 1725

    34、AS100. shall. be used to classify and n identification markings conforming 3.7.2 Serial numbers. The socks shall be identified by individual serial numbers which shall be assigned by the manufacturer. consecutive numbers to cover the entire acquisi tion document quantity, 3.8 Workmanship. The socks

    35、shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from irregulari ties or any defects that could adversely affect performance, re1 iabi 1 i ty, or durability. Because of the emergency and life support use of the socks, the importance of providing a product of uniformly excellent quality cannot be overem

    36、phasized. socks shall conform to the quality and grade of product established by this specif i cation.     37、n. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of al 1 inspection requirements (examination and test) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other

    38、facilities sui table for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and servic

    39、es conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requ

    40、irements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice

    41、to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified

    42、 as follows: a. First article inspection. The first article inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on samples which are representative of the production item after award of a contract to determine that the production item conforms to the requirements of this specification (see 4.3).

    43、 b. Qual i ty conformance inspection. Qual i ty conformance inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on the individual products or lots to determine conformance of the products or lots with the requirements set forth in this specification (see 4.4). c. Qual i ty conformance verificati

    44、on inspection. Qual i ty conformance verification inspection consists of test and examinations performed on individual units from production lots to verify conformance of the lots with the requirements set forth in this specification (see 4.5). 4.3 First article. 4.3.1 First article inspection. The

    45、first article inspection of the socks shall consist of the examinations and tests listed in Table IV. 4.3.2 First article samples. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, as soon as practicable after award of the contract or purchase order, the manufacturer shall submit samples consisting of the

    46、 following: a. One pair of socks for each size ordered in the contract. b. Two additional pairs of socks of any size. 5 Licensed by Information Handling ServicesThe samples shall be representative of the construction, workmanship, components and materials to be used during production. When a contrac

    47、tor is in continuous production of these socks from contract to contract, submission of further first article inspection samples, on the new contract, may be waived at discretion of the acquiring activity (see 6.2.lf). Approval of the first article inspection samples or the waiving of the first arti

    48、cle inspection does not waive the requirements for performing the quality conformance inspection. Government as directed by the contracting officer (see 6.2.lg). The first article inspection samples shall be furnished to the 4.3.3 First article report. Upon completion of the first article inspection

    49、 program, the Government activity responsi ble for conducting -the inspection program (see 6.2.lg) shall report to the contracting officer the results of the inspection program, with appropriate recommendations. 4.3.4 Disposition of first article samples. Upon completion of the first article inspection program, sample disposition shall be as follows: a. The approved sock samples of each size (see 4.3.2a) will be returned to the contractor for reference in monitoring production. b. One of the two additional approved sock samples of any size (see 4.3.213) will be retained by
